Slept kind of wonky. Bailed on Greenlake (*sheepish*), except valid reason as knee is really in pain and was stupid and didn't take 47 Advil yesterday. That's remedied now, but it's still pretty stiff. Owie.

Had odd dream that John had inspired me to take a cooking class at UW and I was learning to sauté carrots.

Simply must clean flat. Must conquer all the dead things in fridge which I have been ignoring for past month. Bleh.

However, morning will be spent re-reading entire SiP series in bed with furry animal and leftover pizza.

Also, randomly, I have Blink 182's Mutt in my head and it won't go away. ("...his pants are supertight, oh yeah!")

Also also, ran out of current Must-Sees on Netflix, so the 30 or so odd previous Oscar winners I had listed have started showing up. Currently watching, Driving Miss Daisy. It's a sweet movie. But can't get out of head the SNL skit, "Riding Miss Daisy" and having porn music cycle through my head now and then.

Anyone have any great rental recommendations? Movie or TV series?

I'm plowing through the first two seasons of 24 right now. The second season just came out on DVD, and it's awesome to watch this show in big fat chunks so as not to be driven mad by the suspense. I love commercial-less TV.

Also, The Sopranos.

The Office (uk tv series.. deadpan funny) and the Secret of Roan Inish (my faveourite Irish film ever... directed by an American, John Sayles though!)

The Fifth Element.

:b

Or 'M', but I seem to remember you having a reason for resisting that one.

Oooo! Oooo! I've been wanting to watch The Office series. Great suggestion, and I will check out The Secret of Roan, too. Thanks!

I watched the entire first season, but was too frustrated by the suspense, so I think I'll take up your suggestion and rent season 2.

Also, I worshiped season one of the Sopranos. Did it continue to rule after that? Another great suggestion. Danke.

M: I was feeling especially cowardly when I'd rented that one. Something about not wanting nightmares about a German serial-killer of children. So I returned it. When you move here, we can rent it and you can hold my hand.

And The Fifth Element. I really should finally see that damn thing.

I just love the soundtrack to Roan Inish... it's one of my faveourites. I'm not really too much into Irish Trad but it's just atmospheric and lovely.. and the movie is so fecking cute!

So far, so good. I'm only up to Season, um, Three, I think, but in all ways it has continued to rock.

Also, I want to do Six Feet Under after this.

Also also, The West Wing. Though I've given up on it by now, the first two (possibly three, I can't remember exactly) seasons were Da Bomb.

The first three seasons of The West Wing can't be beat. I haven't been able to watch this last season, which makes me very sad. Though I hear there were a few good episodes after the initial downward spiral.

I have Six Feet Under on my list but the first episode I watched of it didn't really grab me. Will make a renewed effort one of these days.

Oh yeah, that's right. Ok. It's not that bad, though.

Fifth Element you probably won't even like that much but dammit, I want to be able to quote it.
