fuck fuck fuckity
Nov. 29th, 2004 04:42 amWhat do you do for a badly sore throat again?
When this cold started, it started as an uncomfortable tickle in the back of my throat. Then that went away and I just had some stuffiness. That was four days or so ago. But I just woke up with a hurts-so-bad-to-swallow-I-can't-sleep sore throat. Owie. It's been a long time since I've been sick. Last January, actually. And it was just mucous-y, sinus fun. 10 billion Sudafed later and I was okay. Not so much this time.
I want to cough so badly, but am afraid it'll just tear my throat up some more. I spent yesterday constantly coughing. Yuck.
I even salt-hot-water-gargled which makes me gag.
I went to bed late. Sunday nights are so evil because you need to go to bed early for work, but reallyreallyreally don't wanna. I ended up getting to sleep around midnight. I have to be up at 6:30, and certainly shouldn't be awake now. But my throat hurts. Wah.
Just want to say, though, thank GOD for
brabble. Sarah came by yesterday evening and coaxed me into getting dressed and drove me to the store so we could buy supplies. I was in a pretty pathetic state and didn't want to leave my cave ever. Thank you again, Sarah. You rule.
When I was trying to go to sleep earlier, I had that panicked "omg we have to go to sleep!!" wiredness that ensures that the one thing you won't be doing is peacefully falling asleep. And now I have that 'omg it's fucking 4:30am, what are you doing up, go to sleep! go to sleep! you have to be up in 2 hours!' panic that isn't helping. Tomorrow is going to suck. Between my cold and general feeling of suck, the lack of sleep is going to be really bad.
Eeeek. I am so going to bed at 8:30 tonight.

Salt water gargling took care of the searing throat pain, happily.

Date: 2004-11-30 03:20 pm (UTC)Salt water gargles are REPULSIVE. But I've been doing them because the results are actually miraculous.
If airborne tastes gross, mrrrh. I'm kind of a wuss about that. But I'm even worse about getting myself to the store after work so we'll see if I manage that before the cold is over. I'll definitely buy some for next time.
