cattus est dormit
Jan. 16th, 2005 11:53 pmAmazing how fast a weekend goes when you hang out having fun with your friends and not doing ANY of your chores.
Bought a few more nice pieces out in Auburn (including a pair of chocolate pants, some charcoal pants, red sweater shell to go with the cardigan I bought last time, a navy cardigan, a blue tee, a white long-sleeved tee, and a pink tee because omfg I am a girl).
Then Sarah and I set out for Pacific Place, had some coffee and a Latin lesson (which was disproportionately exciting) and then ran upstairs to gleefully watch The Incredibles again. Dear GOD I love that movie. Clearly most of the people in the audience had already seen it, too, because we all giggled in anticipation before the funny lines were delivered.
Back to my place to watch The Golden Globes. I had a blast (and my bitchy commentary of it to follow tomorrow), but the awards weren't as fun this time because I didn't give a shit about 90% of the nominees. And the rare time I did, they didn't win. Bah. Curious to see the Oscar nominees. I need to go watch a few more contenders, particularly Sideways because it looks fantastic, Neverland because omg Kate Winslet, and Closer because I hear it was just so appallingly pointless and weird.
We went hog-wild taking pictures of the inimitable Hobbsie, but I especially have to share this darling shot of Sarah and Hobbes. God fucking dammit I wish the flash had been on. We'd had it off because each shot was blinding the poor animal and making him look demonic.

movies (or "films," if you have a preference) :)
Date: 2005-01-17 02:10 pm (UTC)2) CLOSER - Your impressions prior to seeing it are correct. I saw it and while I could appreciate the look and the mood, I still think it was a pointless film.
I have to see FINDING NEVERLAND. I wonder if I missed it playing around here. It takes a while somtimes for the hip films to reach Cape Cod, and when they DO get here it seems they're all playing at once and I have to make hard choices about which to see first. Babbling there. I kind of want to see RAY now, but I might wait for it on DVD (I like Ray Charles and all but I'm not falling over myself to go see it.... same with BEYOND THE SEA about Bobby Darrin... it looks like something my parents would watch on cable).
Hobbes has got to be one of the most photographed kitties. He's cute. I love red cats. We have one in our menagerie but he's also the semi-retarded one with fits of kitty rage... he enjoys attacking the other cats for fun.
