Feb. 27th, 2004 12:25 pmWith all the news on TV lately about the sub zero weather and snow that the east coast and upstate NY areas are experiencing, we shouldn't forget that Southern California has its share of devastating weather also.
I've attached a photo illustrating the excessive damage caused to a home from a west coast storm that passed through the Los Angeles area a couple of days ago. It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take life for granted!!!
( Warning: The attached picture is quite graphic and may not be suitable for younger viewers. )

Feb. 27th, 2004 06:38 pmWhat did I do today? No, besides eating too much cereal. I cut out all the colored fabric squares. Perfectly evenly. Yes. ALL of them in one frenzied afternoon. It was like ripping off a band-aid.
Come, come--let us do the dance of joy!
Lest you think this is unimpressive, let me remind you that it took me 3 weeks to do the cutting last time and I hadn't quite honed my rotary-blade-mat-skills, so instead of 400 rectangles I had 400 variously shaped trapezoids. Now? My skillz are quite mad. Mad skillz they are. Next, I shall conquer the world. *much deranged laughter*
Now I just have to cut out the plain squares. This is less joyful.
Mercifully, I don't have to do it right now. Time to shower, have dinner and get ready for Mystic River with the bookclub and
devinluvsrussia. Judy wimped out five minutes ago.
( She was stone-faced against my bambi-eyes, even. )
She's been swamped with work and would prefer to pass out on her couch.

This thing? Has been. Driving me. Quite Mad. All Fucking Day.
I have all 12 items but can't move on. Grrr. I will conquer it. I WILL.
And
neojima: when you solve it in 8.9 seconds, I don't want to hear it *surly*
[UPDATE: I did it! I did it! I finished the fucking thing! It took a small suggestion from a friend, but I did it! And now? I can go to sleep; tomorrow is going to SUCK when I have to wake up at 7:45am and be coherent]
