waiting for godot

The best thing about inviting people over, even for a brief visit, is that you're forced against your lazy-ass-will to clean.

Amy's folks are stopping by this morning. Instead of meeting them at Ray's, I suggested they come here (since I'm only 10 minutes or so away from the Locks), knowing that this would mean I would clean up my flat.

Hauled self out of bed at 11 to:

wash dishes, clean up kitchen
Little Green Clean Machine up the cat puke
sweep bathroom/kitchen floors
collect and start laundry
put away extra bedding stuff from last weekend
straighten up cds and movies
put away all matter of clutter
make bed
amass and toss trash
sadly toss out chewed bit of gum from nightstand

It's only noon and I have a sparkling clean apartment. Hurray!!

I think I'm feeling together enough to brave the grocery store. I need to buy a few things:

laundry detergent
toilet bowl cleaner
Advil
water
spinach salad stuff
pasta salad for tomorrow's bbq

Think I might actually try Top Banana for produce. Hear it's excellent and cheap.

Hobbes is being almost obnoxiously cute today. I woke up to him snuggled against my legs at the foot of the bed, completely on his back, in a lovey, meowy mood. I instantly thought, "Man, good thing devinluvsrussia isn't here or she would RUN OFF with him for sure!"

He also loves it when I make the bed, as it gives him this perfect background to pose cutely against. It's really ridiculous. It's a good thing I don't have a normal camera, as I would do nothing but shoot shots of him looking heartbreakingly adorable. And we don't need 80000 pictures of that.
