I Dido.

Damn she's beautiful. And can sing like a motherfucker. And I love all of her songs.

Picked up Judy around 7 and sped downtown to park and walk over to The Paramount. It was my first time there. It's a gorgeous venue. John met us inside a bit later.

The opening band was Aqualung. Well. It was one guy with a guitar. His brother, the other half of the band, had hastened back to England when his wife called to say her water broke. He was off key and looked very young, but I thought he was adorable. I liked some of the songs, even if they could have been sung better.

John's reaction to the guy was hilarious. He cringed through each number, seemingly hunched over in physical pain. Judy and I kept chirping bits of the song lyrics at him afterwards and he had a rather murderous expression to him

The worst part about concerts is waiting for them to start already. It took too damn long, sitting there in silence. But it turned out to be well worth the wait.

Dido was amazing. Just amazing. Don't know how to express how much I loved hearing her sing live without resorting to foaming hyperbolic fits of adoration, so um. Yeah. Hi, I'm a fan.

Afterwards, we wandered over to look at tee-shirts (and yes, actually they were selling Dido THONGS. Why? Why? Does anyone really need a pink satin thong with No Angel imprinted on it?) and decided against buying.

We hugged and parted ways, agreeing to meet tomorrow for another round of Greenlake.

And since, yes, I didn't actually um make it to the post office, Judy's agreed to help me overcome this personal handicap and escort me there tomorrow. And the grocery store. Hey, I run her errands with her all the time. Since we're not meeting until 2, I am considering doing my errands on my own in the morning like an actual adult. But we'll see.

I found myself doing some volunteer editing today for an independent film group today, and had a deadline to meet. That's my excuse at least. It was weird doing actual editing work again (not just for an assignment). It's another portfolio piece for me, so that's nice.

And now, laundry, or I shall have nothing clean to wear outside my flat tomorrow.

eep

So wet underwear--not so exciting.

My dryer generally requires two rounds to dry things properly and I fell asleep last night and didn't get to reset it. Argh. I've got to get dressed like 5 minutes ago to meet [livejournal.com profile] devinluvsrussia (which means I shouldn't be live journaling, but getting dressed and leaving, right?) for lunch before Greenlake with Judy. But all my clothing is still drying, except for underwear, because I pulled that out and am contending with a damp bum.

Today, friends. Today is the day I will make it to the freaking post office and grocery store. Just you watch. There'll be no shamefaced post about how I pantsed that up again. No, no. I will get these tedious errands done today.

Also, got a note back from that volunteer tech editing assignment, and they liked my work!

Typical Scorpio stuff, really.

Huh. Not feeling particularly any of these good qualities today. Well, except Homely as have had three sequential Bad Hair Days.

And for those who know my career history, how bitter was I at the "doctor" line?

And, the bizarre what color is your username thing.

1. Copy and paste this: YourUsername into your journal.
2.Replace the []'s with <>'s
3.Replace "YourUsername" with YOUR username.
4.Post.

Huh. Okay: verbicide

[Edit: in Semagic's preview thingie, it's bright green. In Opera & Mozilla I see it as black, green in IE. Weird.]

So tired. So very tired.

Ran around Greenlake with [livejournal.com profile] devinluvsrussia and Judy and was strangely wiped out. Ran errands (yes, actually did manage to finally fucking mail off passport stuff and grocery shop. Woo).

Ran late, had to go straight to class from dropping Judy off after Trader Joe's and thus didn't get to shower and was smelly and sticky and gross.

Class was okay. Relieved to have it over, be home, showered and have a nice cold Mike's to relax a bit. I think I'm going to go and watch some of that nice brainless thing called television.
