Had a thing in Bellevue this morning. Saw the flaming VW on 520-W and it was a scary sight. Nearly ran out of gas trying to find a gas station on my way back. I hate unfamiliar areas because a gas station is probably just one block east of where you're spinning in circles. Finally found the last stupid gas station on the planet that doesn't allow credit cards. Grr. Grr. GRRRR.

Made it home, grumbling about the heat. I know it's a mild and beautiful day, but sitting in traffic, I felt like a bug under a magnifying glass. Now in my apartment, it's cold. WTF, mate? I'm ready for rain. I like rain. Judy would slap me, because she is a child of sunlight, but I prefer my weather a bit more gothic.

Had lunch, and now have to get ready for Amanda's class. I have a dinner/movie right after, and time will be tight. Bleh. I like time to be a bit looser, actually. Going to meet David to see Hero. Unless we reschedule again. I think we've rescheduled 5 times at this point. But he's got a cold, and if he feels worse as the evening progresses, I told him to feel free to cancel at the last second, because being sick is so very not fun.

Don't laugh at me [livejournal.com profile] euphraise, but I'm doing Atkins for this week. I always lose like 10lbs on Atkins the first week of induction. And then I'm going to switch back to WW. I prefer WW, but I feel like doing something drastic and different, before going back to the lifestyle I like on WW. The ease of Atkins for me is how restrictive it is. Doesn't require a lot of thinking or counting.

It was surreal at the grocery store. Miles of shelves of things I couldn't eat. Blah. After a week of roasted chicken and salad, I'll remember why it's not the diet for me and I can run shrieking back into the arms of Winning Points.

Feeling rushed and a bit spazzy today. Dishes are filling sink. Stuff is cluttered everywhere. Laundry needs to be done. Must call flat manager to bitch about dryer they were supposed to have replaced over the weekend. Gah. It's ridiculous how fast things degenerate.

Watched Designing Woman last night (1957 Gregory Peck, Lauren Bacall) and loved it. In a lot of ways their characters reminded me of Greg and myself. Two people who are extremely different, but crazy about each other. Happily there's no Maxie Schultz going cross-eyed on everyone in our version.

Um. Also reading The Edible Woman for bookclub and loving it. More on this later.

Last night was hilarious. Stacey did something to her computer that made it unhappy. And just as I don't hesitate to ask her general medical advice, I'm happy she calls with all matters technical. It was a weird problem, and eventually I had her install VNC so I could just get into her machine and see what was going on vs having her read half a dozen things to me. The best part of this was hearing Stacey shriek with amazement every time her mouse moved--controlled of course by me. Happily we resolved the problem and there was much joy. I VNC.

Not to be patronizing at ALL, but it's always kind of fun to do something a bit geeky and have your very capable, but less-computer-savvy friend shriek things like, "Whoa! It's like the MATRIX!!!" Hee.

I'm always so exhausted and frizzy haired after step, I'm not sure dinner/movie immediately after was the smartest choice, but it's the only day we both have open.

Ahh okay must go get dressed and pack gym bag. *runs around*
