My arms, they are a-hurtin'.

It's been a weirdly tiring week. I was talking to Jeff about it, and I think I need to go to bed earlier. I tucked myself in around 10:30 last night, but I think that next week, I'm gong to try to get a bit more sleep and make up some of the fatigue-debt I've accumulated. And oh, how I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow! Purr.

I sure as hell didn't want to go to Amanda's last night. So I sat in my office, irritably trying to justify skipping. I even sneezed pointedly a few times. But like Tuesday, I know if I skip once, it opens the floodgates of sloth and it'll be me, a bag of potato chips, and the couch--for all eternity. So I went, and unlike Tuesday's limp-a-thon, I had a decent workout.

However, I need to be less retarded about the whole thing. I really, randomly, want to be able to do the Precor Elliptical machine. Amy loves it, Sarah loves, Miss Alli loves it. Godfuckingdammit, I want to love it, too. So the last 4 times at the gym, I've tried to add it to my routine. Problem is, it really hurts the bottom of my foot. Yeah, the bottom of it. No idea why. It hurts really badly. Grrrrrr. So I ignored it, thinking I'd get used to it. I was raised with the concept that if it hurts, it's probably because you aren't trying hard enough. But man, it really hurts. And not in a good way.

Sarah: Um, so stop using it?
Me: Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

But after yesterday, I realized I was being stupid. I've been getting a phenomenal workout on the treadmill. And when I switch from Precor to treadmill, I start off slower because the bottom of my foot hurts so damn bad. Urgh. Anyhow. No soup for me. I might try the Precor periodically down the line, but back to a solid joint-destroying workout for now. My knees may creak after the treadmill, but it's not active pain like with the Precor.

Then up to Amanda's Workshop of Pain. It was a good class, she beat the shit out of our arms. Ow ow ow. But it went well, I felt stronger. Not quite ready to move up to another weight level, but maybe soon.

I got home and desperately wanted to order a pizza. I could taste the tomato sauce and mozzarella. But, instead, I ate 400 bowls of Honey Nut Cheerios. Mmm, crunchy. Not pizza, but not bad, either. Although, and this is probably TMI, my stomach woke me up at 3am shrieking, "OMFG TOO MUCH FIBER!!"

Time to go to work, but it's FRIDAY! Yay!

squeeeeee!!

The ever-magnificent [livejournal.com profile] merhawk bought me a present at WonderCon! As anyone who reads my journal knows, I love SiP with a fervor bordering on insanity. (Okay, maybe not so much, but I do love it quite a lot.)

To add to the tote bag and traveler's mug she's already bought me, she has added the magnets and Katchoo-pin to my collection.

Woo hoo!

Thanks, Hawk!

Bunches of people in my office and personal life are sick. I've been sad about this, but knocking on wood so hard, my knuckles are chafed.

Headache for no reason: check
Upset stomach in the middle of the night: check
Increasing frequency of random sneezing fits: check
Over-all body ache, initially blamed on Amanda: check
Congestion and associated crabbiness: check
Weird internal temperature fluctuations: check

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuckit.

I think I need to stop somewhere and buy that Airborne stuff I've been hearing rave reviews about. Because if I *sneeze* (excuse me) am just starting to get sick, I need to lop it off before it gets anywhere.

Contractors don't get sick leave, ya know.
