babble babble
Sep. 20th, 2006 08:05 amI'm a little afraid to go to work today. Yesterday, I got up early and bounded out the door thinking I'd get to work super early, and then my ten minute commute took a fucking HOUR.
Something weird was up on the roads of Seattle yesterday morning. I'm not sure what it was. The first appearance of a few drops of rain? I know we've had a long, warm, lovely summer, but it seems like people all-too-easily forget that this is a city renowned for drizzle.
I hit a couple of news channels on the radio, trying to figure out if there was a massive accident on 99 or what, but it seems the madness was everywhere.
And holy shit, I almost forgot and was about to step into the shower: two burly men will be coming by this morning to take my loveseat. I'm donating it to the day porter at work whose family just moved here from Kenya. I gather he has a house out in Kent or somewhere-- but no furniture. So Steph, our wonderful office manager, put a call out for donations. Since I only use that sucker for tossing clothes on, I'm hoping this will free up some exciting space for bookshelves and things I could actually use down the line. (And, they just came and took it in all of 4 seconds. Nice cheerful guys!) It's so weird, there's this big empty spot now. I can finally pull the bedroom tv out of the closet!
I think I will go make lunch. I bought this spectacular baguette at the Farmer's Market, and just bought some brie and turkey to make a sandwich. Which I am going to want to eat by 10AM. Maybe I'll make a little breakfast, too. I'm never up early enough for breakfast!
Oh, on a final note about Big J's visit. We had a little bbq last night! OB and Em came over, too. Big J is off early this afternoon, back to the Bay Area, but he promises that he'll bring the whole family back up here soon. I can't wait! Because, nephews!!!
