a very, very good day

My company loves Halloween and dressing up is mandatory. I'm just sorry our crazy Russian VP wasn't there because she really loves the holiday and goes absolutely bananas over everyone's costumes. Glad there were no pressing deadlines today, because no one got anything done today.

8:30AM - Got to work and promptly called Jeff to find out if he was really going to bail on the day or not.
8:15AM - Commenced shrieking with joy, because Jeff wasn't going to ditch.
9:00AM - Meeting with cranky director who was finally decidedly un-cranky and very helpful.
10:00AM - Received lovely e-mail commendation from another director about some work I'd just done for his group.
10:15AM - Received another lovely e-mail commendation from own director about quick response to emergency project yesterday.
10:30AM - Perched in Jeff's office and prattled excitedly about upcoming party.
10:45AM - Died of laughter at group of guys dressed as Disney heroines.
11:00AM - French lesson.
12:00PM - Ditched work for an hour to go out for lunch with Jeff at DeLuxe. Mmmmm fries.
1:00PM - Returned to work, met boss in hallway and mutually decided to ditch our 1:1 today.
1:30PM - Put on long black dress and super-tall boots of joy.
1:45PM - Jeff arrived, bedecked as dashing Conquistador. Swooned. Began applying green face paint while chatting with Jeff.
2:00PM - Watched in adoration as Jeff painstakingly applied my black nail polish.
2:15PM - Carefully walked down to party. Merriment ensued. Our costumes were wildly appreciated!
3:30PM - Feet in pain. Boots of joy = boots of agony.
3:45PM - Wandered back to our office area and hung out, chatting with various people.
3:50PM - Made mistake of earnestly telling Rich he could come as Mr. Universe-type so long as he got some fake muscles. Hee.
4:00PM - Lured Jeff back to my office to chat while I carefully creamed off green makeup.
5:00PM - Followed Jeff back to his office, later joined by Pete. Concept of work thoroughly abandoned for the day.
5:30PM - Exit building.
