verbicideThis was my first time watching Mark Burnett's other reality show. Tonight was the two-hour premiere.
It's hilarious to see Rob and Amber ("Ambah") again. I know some people are pissed and think that because they've won before, they shouldn't get to play here, but I think it's a brilliant marketing strategy for the show and watching Rob open and close his mouth and say remarkably asinine things is funny.
The All-American couple? My second most instantly-hated pair. Wtf was up with the, "Hey man, I was in Eye-raq. And if I win, I'm going to give the money away to the crippled masses." The implied, "so go ahead and just let me win, kthnx" was laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. Also, his beauty-pageant honey was equally vapid. Hiss.
I thought I hated them the most, until we spent some time with Deanna and Fuckface. I don't know what his name is, I just know I want him to die. Die. Die. Die. He needs to fall off the face of a mountain. Yes, when your partner can't breathe, telling them to suck it up and not complain is the most helpful thing you can do. Yay, teamwork, motherfucker. Sheesh. And he continued to be more and more of an ass throughout. How on earth did she ever date him? Their relationship status is 'Dating off and on for 3 Years." How? Why? Why would anyone date such a pompous, uncaring asshole. I know it's a speed-race, but jesus.
Even though I couldn't understand a word the two rednecks were saying, it was sad to see them voted off. They were sweet in their own incomprehensible way and were clearly trying hard and working as best as they could. And they were all teary-eyed and adorable about their friendship at the end. Awwww.
And what is up with the 'lifelong friends' pair? Clearly a couple, no? They do not just seem like close friends. Sarah and I kept debating this. Actually, does debating imply we disagreed, because we didn't. We kept looking at each other, sayin' "Yanno..."
So, I am very intrigued. Though also annoyed because I'd like to be able to watch Veronica Mars and Scrubs and everything in the universe is on at the same time. Bah.
Also, I so needed to go to bed like 2 hours ago. But am I sleepy? Nooooooooooooooooooooo. Regardless, zu bett!

Date: 2005-03-02 10:12 am (UTC)Heh. I was very bored, and so reading the TWOP forums. Apparently, one of the ambiguously lesbian duo is a substitute teacher. So if they are a couple (and really, I don't kiss my straight friends and call them 'baby'), it makes sense for them to not come right out and announce it. An openly gay teacher is frequently an unemployed teacher.
And die, POW guy. Die, die, die. Asshole guy actually bothers me less. At least he's not trying to parlay his military history into some bullshit touchy-feely reason why people should just let his ass win. Wanker.
