Phone rang at bloody 8 in the morning. Mornings and me--not such good friends. I have a number of friends who are morning people, and I manage (just barely) to love them anyway.
Oh. The call. Yes, it was Ellie (morning person who prefers to work a 6am-3pm shift *shudder*). She immediately apologized for calling so early, but that Judy made her. Jeff can't pick Judy and John up from the airport tomorrow, and could I do it. I groggily agreed. When I asked what time the flight was, she timidly peeped "8:20am, butcustomswilltakethemforever! You probably need to get there by 9:30, isthatok?" I paused, while my brain stabbed angrily at the suggestion of waking up early two days in a row, and said, calmly "Of course I can."
Excuse me while I have a moment visualizing myself as Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday from Tombstone:
Otherrandomcowboy: Whah are ya doin' it?
Me: "Because Judy K is mah freynd"
Otherrandomcowboy: "Shoot, I got a lot of freynds"
Me: "Ah don't"
Which is both happily untrue and thank god I don't have an accent (I don't have an LA accent! I don't I don't!)
But the sentiments are there. There are few people I would give kidney to, but Judy is one of them. I'll even wake up early for her.
Sadly, feeling tragic and noble doesn't get me off doing my homework. *cries*
Must go do chapter 6: "emphasis" now.
