I'm really looking forward to settling into a routine. This week has not been routine.
I have about 5 million things to get organized. The number one thing is: buy a fucking bus pass so you don't have to scramble for fare every day. Of course it doesn't apply today, because I have to drive in to work today.
Been tired pretty much all the time. There's no time to update from work (and really, not anxious to get busted using LiveJournal my first week there) and when I come home, I'm generally so wiped out that petting Hobbes is about the most I can handle.
Tuesday,
brabble, who utterly rules, gave me a ride home, stopping at the grocery store and even brought me Zelda (*shriek of joy*). I stubbornly stayed up to watch the Daily Show, though Sarah rationally pointed out I was clearly in desperate need of sleep.
Wednesday, I met Sarah at her place and we saw The Incredibles again, which was just as cool on a second viewing. Love that movie. LOVE IT.
Thursday, Sarah picked me up again from work and we had dinner and she came over to watch Survivor and CSI and dealt with the frenetic whirring of my sewing machine as I cranked out a blanket for my cousin Z (whose birthday was back in April). Wow, there were like 400 'ands' in that sentence. I also finished the hat for Y! It's my first hat, and while it's not perfect, I'm very excited about it.
So even though I was supposed to pack last night, I didn't. I just conked out. Woke up at 4:30am and kept trying to sleep, but bolting upright, worried I would be late this morning. Finally packed and found myself with a spare 15 minutes.

After Sarah left, I was wiped out and really didn't want to pack. I hate packing. I loathe it. HAAAAAAAAAATE. But I leave for LA for a quick family visit tonight. Have to leave work early, meet Sarah at Dere Auto where I will leave my car to have the leak fixed. Then off to the airport in rush hour traffic. A late flight home and a weekend crammed with seeing people who will spend the entirety of my time there complaining about how infrequent and short my visits are. I love my family and would love to see them, but it's just a bad time right now with my new work schedule. I really resent the loss of a weekend and feel like a selfish bitch since I know they're all very excited. |
