I went to Sarah's to pick up Ida. Where they were both tipsy and hilarious. We hung out for a bit. Ida had made the most spectacular chicken with a wine sauce and some pasta. She is an excellent cook! That really hit the spot.
Eventually we dragged ourselves away so Sarah could sleep. Because she has to work today. And needs more than 20 minutes of sleep.
I've taken most of the day off, but need to run in around 4pm to finalize a project for the printers. My boss was so nice. She offered to do it, but this thing has been my baby for awhile. My irritating, demonspawn baby. But mine, nonetheless.
But outside of that, I'm a free birdie today. So Ida came over last night and we drank and chatted. We watched one of our favorite movies, Much Ado About Nothing. And then collapsed asleep around 1am.
Sleeping in this morning was lovely. So exciting to not have to get up and go to work!
And god bless Maribel. She's going to come here at 4pm and clean my skanky flat. I need to get some loads of laundry in, because my god. But it'll be lovely. Worth every damn cent.
Once we both properly wake up, it's off to the Hi-Life for breakfast!
God, days off are freaking glorious!
I'm making flank steak for dinner tonight, and we plan on going out and getting positively smashed (I know, juvenile, but fun, dammit!). The three of us. Because omfg that never happens. Ida was asking why it was such an impossibility for us to go out and get a few drinks. Well, it's because one of us always needs to drive. And if we drink at home, we stop after one drink and get distracted by shiny. Or fall asleep.
I haven't done this in ages. I don't drink much, period. As I get drunk off half a beer, it doesn't take much. And the last time I was genuinely drunk was the Tiki Party. Which was, omfg, a long time ago. A year ago? So good times are ahead.
Also, since Sarah and I don't get hangovers, there's little consequence beyond the bleeding of our wallets.
