So a large portion of my behavior at the Stitch 'n Bitch involved swearing. I'm trying to knit a hat for my brother's big bald head. So I cast on, but I cast on too much. It was enormous. It was so enormous, I could have used it as a sweater. So yes, probably too big for the circumference of J's head. Then I cut it by a lot and now I’m terrified it's too small. But I think J likes to wear his hats snug and I'm hoping to god this fucker will stretch, because I'm not undoing it again.

This is why I prefer scarves, dammit. No stress about that fitting or not fitting. However, I do rather love the color and the texture of this yarn. So I'm at least pleased there.
And as J once praised one of my very first attempts at cooking Paki food (soggy lentil basmati rice, burnt beef curry, and runny rice pudding) like it was perfectly prepared, he'll wear this damn hat and pretend it fits perfectly. I just hope it really does.

Date: 2005-11-07 06:28 pm (UTC)This damn thing is much too small for my brother's head, so it's going to have to be my nephew's birthday present. Well, I meant to knit him one next anyway.
