verbicideI can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! I love the holidays! Ahhhh!
All I want to do is plan. I just wrote out a master Christmas list. Sarah and Emily have been invited over to help with Project Cookie in my very own production of The Little Kitchen That Could scheduled for the first weekend in December. I'm going to be cheap and not buy the Kitchen-Aid mixer. I know it would be glorious, but I just don't want to spend any money on anything that I know I can survive without. Also, fine, I'm cheap.
In some ways the upcoming move is making me hyper-organized, because there really isn't time to dither. I can't do things at the last second because I will be moving, and then I will be out of town, and then the damn holidays will be over.
This weekend I need to:
- clean my flat and clean my garbage-strewn car
- shop for ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner
- make a master list of the types of cookies I'm making and do some basic math so I know quantities
- buy materials for handmade Christmas cards (we'll see how that goes)
- start buying the presents I know I want to get people and stash them away
Mostly it's an unscheduled sort of weekend. Saturday I'm meeting Jeanne to knit in a cafe somewhere. Sunday Sarah and I are going to hang out and watch Heavenly Creatures (which I'm sure will be as disturbing and fucked-up as reported).
