Snow always catches me so completely off guard--but the ground is covered out there. The Safeway parking lot is covered somewhat thickly, happily the roads aren't as bad.

It's so... pretty!

My first year in Seattle there was quite the intense snowfall. I couldn't tell you how many inches, but people were snowboarding down my not-so-steep hill and going bugfuck with delight on the really steep hills downtown.

But the entire city shut down. Businesses, schools, you name it.

It was awesome. But omfg, if I had to GO anywhere... it would not be okay. So you have my heartfelt condolences *grin*

My husband went to work in the 22-inch storm a couple weeks ago. But it's OK - the advantage of living in New England is this getting to bitch about it and fuss at people who were smart enough to live elsewhere. :)

Fair enough. Also, don't you get all the spectacular lobster and clam chowder of the land?

the people up in Boston and along the coastline do; not so much where I am (but that's fine, 'cause I don't like it! :) ).

snow really is pretty in the beginning, even up here.

Awww. We didn't get any! I got got some annoying frost that took longer to clean than snow would have.

The advantage to living in New England is that they have snow plows and simply clean the streets and proceed with life when it snows. As opposed to here, where you have to wait for it to melt to get off most of the streets. (And then, of course, there are the other drivers freaking out at the snow.)
