God I don't want to do my stupid homework assignment. I feel like a rebellious 14 year old.

I had a lovely day. Work went fine. Went to meet the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] devinluvsrussia at Greenlake. It was grey out but we didn't get rained on, and as always the time went so fast that we finished in no time. Afterwards, we went to my favorite Mexican food place, El Gallito, and chowed down on some excellent food.

Caught up with a half asleep Sarah who has the most adorable half-asleep voice EVER.

Now? I should do homework. But I think I'd prefer a root canal. Blah.

I pulled out Aspects of Love from the box of semi-unpacked cds in my living room today. Hobbes is rejoicing because the box fits him perfectly. I am a closet showtune fanatic and it's been sometime since I've indulged. I love Michael Ball. He has the best voice for wistful, romantic yearning. Now I want to stride about my flat keening about heartbreak. When I was 18 I desperately wanted to be the dramatic Rose Vibert. Now I want to be Jenny, but lack her sweet, naive optimism. Or ooo, I could be Giulietta:

"If death were given a voice,
That voice would scream through the sky:
Live while you may for I am coming...

So...

Hand me the wine and the dice,
I want my carnival now,
While I have thirst and lust for living!"

See? Doesn't that indicate I shouldn't waste my life doing homework that is pointless and boring?

I want, want, want, Aspects of Love on CD, but haven't bought it yet.

What version do you have?

I didn't realize there were multiple versions. I have the Original 1989 London cast (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000001FR7/qid=1077602869//ref=pd_ka_1/102-8275426-6118548?v=glance&s=music&n=507846).

It's wonderful. I was lucky enough to see it in London years ago. Have you got a favorite song/character/anything?

I've been the same way about my homework tonight! I'm almost done with my assignment, but it felt like a punishment today.

ANYTHING but homework! *pout, kick, scream, whine, cry*

There's always the American & British versions, if nothing else. I was wondering if there was an extended out, or anything like that.

Favorite... I like the whole thing, but the end is best. When he's singing to Jenny "We are but cousins, Jenny, and you're 15 years old..." - love that song. And the wake is a masterpiece as well.

Damn. I was going to wait to order the CD (got a version on tape that's in pretty bad shape), but maybe I need to order it now...

God, totally.

I feel utterly stubborn about it, too! I'm just saving it for tomorrow after work. What's pathetic is, it's not like it's not particularly hard, it's not going to take that long to do.

I just DON'T want to do it!
