Sometimes it seems silly to write these long babbly e-mails about just how much my weekend is rocking. But as I spend so much time whining on LJ, I want a record of the good, too.

Because our global employees had been called home for training/meetings, this whole week has been surreal. Starting from Tuesday's big meeting/dinner, it's felt like Friday every single fucking day this past week. When Friday finally rolled around, it was almost anti-climactic. There was also the weirdness that I woke up today, swearing under my breath because I thought I had to get out of bed and get to work. I almost never do that. Huh.

But yay for Friday anyway. I left the office early and went to get a lip/chin wax. It was oddly exciting, though it's had the unpleasant side-effect of giving half my face a lot of bumps, which doesn't usually happen. Mrh. I would like them to go away because they are itchy. But it was still a Friday, and thus a cause for celebration. I came home, dove into pjs, and hunkered down on the couch to catch up on a week's worth of tv. Hobbsie approved mightily and there was a lot of kitty-snogging.

I'm so in love with Wicked: The Musical, that I finally dug out the Gregory Maguire book and have started working through it. The play was fucking spectacular.

Anyhow. Eventually, there was sleep.

I woke up today and lounged around, reading some more, waiting for Jeff to come by and get the party started. What party? The party that is Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market. We also did exciting things like buy cat food at Petco (well, Hobbes, Brutus, and Buffy are excited). We both restrained ourselves at the market, and I only bought a baguette, some spinach, flowers, and apples. Oh, and more chevre and strawberries. And Italian parsley. Next, we went to the U Village to pick up some Kiehls shampoo for Jeff (chlorine neutralizer). We stopped at Piatti's for lunch--they have lovely panini. Finally, we hopped on I-5 to hit Home Depot for sexy items like weather stripping and brooms. Jeff eventually brought me back home around 4:30 and escaped before I tied him to my couch forever as I am always wont to do.

And after getting home, I got a message from my SIL. There was some confusion about whether or not we had plans for tonight--and it turns out we did, and it was still going to work out. So Emily came over and I threw together some pizza dough and made my berry tart. It's amazingly nice that they've moved to West Seattle, I see them so much more often. So I cooked and we chatted happily, and finally turned to discuss quilting techniques because I am so absurdly behind on the projects I've got, that it's ridiculous.

Mmm. Perhaps now, more tv! Viva la weekend!

You know what I did Saturday? I watched TV. I spent the equivalent of an entire work day watching TV. Sure, I did some minor cleaning, but that's basically what I did.

Then I went to a friend's (giant) house and we played hide-and-seek. In the dark. Scary!

Sounds like kind of a nice Saturday to me!
