My alarm went off this morning and I simply turned and laughed in its face. Turned it off and sensibly went back to sleep. But the annoying shrill of guilt finally wrenched me from my sweet bed.

Got to class about 45min late, but you know--it really didn't matter. This last day was spent wrapping up the project I'd already finished and some basic lessons in Acrobat. I luckily nabbed a seat next to Jeff and he whispered that I hadn't missed much.

Class went by relatively fast, and Torsten had organized for a group of us to go to a pub for a celebratory end of quarter thing. There was an exciting moment when we all shoved into the elevator and the doors grudgingly closed. And then there was the not-moving-beeping part (eeek!). We all looked nervously at each other. It turned out Sue was a shade too close to the front door. Happily we made it down the entire treacherous ONE floor our collective lazy asses couldn't handle walking.

Out, out and away to Pike Place Pub (I think that's what it was called), where they were quickly able to accommodate all 12 of us. Food was ordered, and much entertaining conversation ensued. I can highly recommend their spinach salad. My side of the table had Sue, Mandy, Saan and Jeff (largely because I greedily hog his company as much as possible).

Movies, books, artists, psychology: all intently discussed. We really do have a good mix of people. All walks of life and circumstance. And we all share the bond of hatred for this past Tuesday's class. So that was fun!

Afterwards, I drove Jeff home and enjoyed much more wonderful conversation. He is simply too cool for words. (Well, you ARE). The worst thing is everyone wants to hang out with him, so I just have to patiently wait my turn in the queue. Le sigh.

Then yay home. I coulda/shoulda taken a nap, but called Stace instead. I'd just received an email from her. She was frustrated from a post-parental visit; their pressure that she get married has increased. In a total twilight zone sort of moment, her mother told her that Stace's brother in law had said that the reason Stace wasn't married was... because... of ME *blink* Specifically because she talks too much to me.

Huh. That’s just... bizarre beyond words. And there is no explanation for it. He's never met me, and um I live like 1000miles away and we don't actually talk that much. So naturally I immediately called her and after profusely apologizing for once again thwarting her potential marriage joy, had her give me the latest family gossip, We can't figure out if he thinks we're secretly dating or if he thinks I'm a bad influence as another single 32 year old, or really... wtf? Stace lives in San Diego, so it's not like I'm hovering around her, stealing all potential men. It's certainly the strangest thing I've ever been accused of doing.

Anyhow, we caught up. And then I almost got to take a nap, but cousin K called and we ended up catching up, too. I've neglected the kids and feel bad. Oh well, I'll make it up to them next week when I'm in LA.

I'm excited about having absolutely nothing planned for tomorrow. It's been awhile since I've had a long stretch of unplanned day. My flat needs cleaning and I should bust ass on Ellie's quilt. I could potentially have most of the 9-patches done if I cut out the rest of the plain squares tonight. I'm tired and should go to sleep, but then it's only 8, and if I go to bed NOW, I'll be up in the middle of the night. Must hold out until at least 11.

Trying to watch Lion in Winter, but brain isn't engaging. Feel LotR:TT:EE is in order because I can watch that and enjoy it no matter how brain dead I am.

Ok, enough rambling. *wanders off*
