My big brother is sooooooo cute.
He just called to remind me that it was our parent's wedding anniversary and that I should call them to wish them a happy, happy.
I said, "Wait, it was yesterday. I only know this because dad called to tell me you called them to remind them about it and he thought it was funny because he thought the date was April 10th"
Poor OB. Apparently, Dad went on to confuse him by saying that the real anniversary date was April 10th. Um, hello. WhatEVER.
I clarified for OB that our parents are INSANE. That their wedding anniversary is indeed April 9th and hello, that's the date we've celebrated it our whole lives. He feels much better now.
He was just so adorable on the phone. I could see his perplexed expression. Omfg want to bear hug him!! Ahhhhh!!!!
Since Mama died, he's carefully marked down everyone's birthday and anniversary and has religiously called on the appropriate day. She used to be our reminder call, and now that she's gone, we're all sort of on our own. My aunt's wanted to pass me the torch, but I'm just lame and haven't gotten around to it.
He's such a good guy. Since I tend to be a bit more thick with the extended family (and am a chatty thing to his strong, manly, silent self), I'm his liaison to certain family obligation thingies. I only know about them because I hear from my aunt. Yay cultural weirdness. But then I tell him, and he never complains, but seems grateful to know what he's supposed to do. He is a sweet, sweet, sweet guy. And if I wasn't such a lazy motherfucker, I'd drive over to Port Orchard to tacklehug him.
