Kim's party was a blast. I picked up [livejournal.com profile] devinluvsrussia and we set out for Auburn late this afternoon. Is it pathetic that the ultimate highlight was scoring the number of a hot unattainable man?

Kim's house is right off a lake (complete with dock and paddleboat fun). We easily found it with Devin's excellent navigation. I'd been dying to introduce Devin to my larger group of friends and they loved her immediately (which, you know, fucking duh).

It was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining, everyone was happy and dancing around to John's latest mix-cd. Introductions were made and I rejoiced to see that Andre had made it. Purrowwwr. The fact that he was attending the party with his partner Sean in no way detracted from our lust. Devin and I took turns restraining each other from humping his leg. His Latvian accent was a big hit on Devin as well who whispered reverently that she wondered if he spoke Russian.

Randomly, there was a cow experience. Chuck and Kim are tending their neighbors cows and we trekked over to their backgate where the cows came running at the sight of Chuck. I stubbornly waited behind the electric fence, while Devin and other similar-minded, cow-loving individuals raced over to coo at the cows. Who were. Covered entirely. In shit. Yeah. Not for me. I was grateful to make it there and back again without sinking my sandals into the aforementioned shit.

On to horseshoe tossing (which Devin rocked at, except for her initial throw where she attempted to fling the shoe up into the air and onto her own head). Then foosball. A new guy, Jack, very very nice, had mad skillz there and basically decimated the opposition. When Judy joined the game, the volume notched up to deafening as she plays with her entire body and all the volume her vocal cords possess. I was excited because I got to stand next to Andre and occasionally furtively rub against him. Oh yeah, baby. He's so freaking adorable.

As Kim opened her presents, shrieking anew at the yarn, books, etc, Andre found a book on knitting particularly funny and crooned, "Now you can make shoooooes!" For some reason (quite possibly because we were dizzy with lust for him at this point) this was the funniest thing ever and it became the Word of the Day. Devin recounted some funny webcomic involving misery that I can't quite sum up here and so we took turns shrieking 'shooooooes and misery' at each other. Andre has this way of doubling over with laughter which was dangerous because it became very hard to resist pouncing him. Le sigh.

After many more foosball games, Andre and Sean prepared to leave. I couldn't bear to let him get away yet again without getting his phone number and at least the promise of coffee. So I did what any sensible woman would do, I grabbed Devin and threw her under the bus. As Andre walked out, Devin wistfully mentioned again that she wondered if he spoke Russian. I blinked at her once and tore out of the basement, ignoring her protests, shrieking for Andre. It turns out that he does indeed speak Russian, and I was treated to Devin and Andre speaking sexily at each other. We managed to score his number (yes, perhaps we are tragic when scoring a gay man's number is the pinnacle of success). Next to lure him to coffee and friendship. We may never get to nibble on his toes, but really, hearing him talk is treat enough. And isn't this proof of my friendship? If we go to coffee, they'll croon at each other while I'll have to be content to sit there and stare at him.

All good things must come to an end and Devin and I grudgingly left the fun to return to our respective mountains of homework. I hugged Judy goodbye (who threatened to steal Devin from me--No! Mine! Mine!) and we confirmed our plans for brunch/shopping tomorrow.

Now? The drudgery of homework. A pox on Computer Documentation, says I.
