More SIP. Yes, this will continue until I'm done with my reread. After which I will frantically read my bookclub book.
So every time I read the Beach issue (vol 3, issue 25), I get a little pissed off. And I suppose it's a little irrational, because I know it's meant to be a light, funny issue.
Things That Irrationally Piss Me Off:
Conversely, Things I Rather Like In This Issue:
*le sigh* I need issue 61. Now.
I also wish I'd bought that scanner last year, cause it's driving me nuts to not be able to scan in images here and there. Brh.
So every time I read the Beach issue (vol 3, issue 25), I get a little pissed off. And I suppose it's a little irrational, because I know it's meant to be a light, funny issue.
Things That Irrationally Piss Me Off:
- Katchoo not stopping so Francie can pee
- Katchoo not helping Francie unload the car
- David not helping Francie seems very out of character
- What's Katchoo's problem with California oranges, eh? Hrmph.
- Katchoo mocking Francie once again, on the beach, with the 'Yeah, any planet you want, Francine. You should try it, you might land on your home planet!'--Katchoo knows Francie is slower, simpler and very gullible. It's not like parrying with an equal, and it kind of pisses me off each time she does it. If you're going to exchange clever banter, do it with someone on your own intellectual level.
Conversely, Things I Rather Like In This Issue:
- I love the page with the wide shot of David in the water, Katchoo on the sand, and the individual focuses and closeups. It's eerie how much she looks like Tambi in that last shot.
- Their discussion about Darcy on the next page. Though, I was a little puzzled. I didn't think it sounded like David was saying she still existed. All of the comments were in the past tense "Darcy knew it too" "There's nothing Darcy can do about it now--it's too late" I mean, I think the discussion they had from that point was fine, but that confused me. I love the angry look Katchoo gives after David says "Do you believe Emma still exists somewhere?"--I thought that reaction was very real.
*le sigh* I need issue 61. Now.
