jeff_nw and it was ...well, it was a lot better than we'd expected. But then we were pretty grim about this social obligation. Sadly no one else from our program was there. We fear it is because we're the only ones not diligently plugging away at our enormous final projects.
It was great to see Emma, Jan and even JF again. Socially, JF is a sweetie. It's just as an instructor that she sucks. I definitely couldn't have survived the event without Jeff. There was only room at an isolated table and it seemed for awhile that we were going to be shunned. But eventually Emma and JF kindly made their way over from the more popular tables to chat with us. And then we scored a startling hot, young law student, freshly graduated. He was charming, adorably rumpled and Jeff and I both confessed afterwards that we both rather had been helplessly flirting with him all night. Though, we agreed that this guy wasn't our typical type. Huh. That was fun.
STC had gone all out and the event was catered by Baja Fresh. We socialized and even sat through the 'trivia game' where Jeff won a GC to Dick's (a win handed to him by Jan, which was sweet). Neither one of us knows anything about the department. Certificate students don't get that much interaction and we've been on the lamer side on attending meetings. Which is to say this final party was our first meeting.
We wandered out around campus back to my car and made plans for a hot study date on Sunday. The User Guide will be our bitch. Yea we will go forth and conquer it. Or at least have lunch and bitch about it a lot. No, no. We really have to finish the motherfucking thing. And doing it together will at least be entertaining.
Particularly am excited that Emma, in response to my request for help with my resume via email, asked me to meet for coffee instead. Basked in warmth of her invitation, and then she fled, before the trivia game thingie.
Now I'm bored out of my skull. I suppose I could work on something *disgruntled*.
