continued efforts
Jun. 10th, 2004 11:15 amWork stuff
Figure out why a:hover won't work with new css menus (argh!).
Develop print css versions.
Redo other index page in similar style to try out.
Job search stuff:
Hated portfolio design from yesterday. There's 8 hours wasted. Redesign.
Finish writing emails to references begging for current contact info.
Draft cover letterand references.
Clean flat for Stace:
Kitchen (dishes,mop floor, fridge).
Living room (make up sofabed, clear clutter, vacuum).
Bedroom (laundry, unpack from Vancouver, clear clutter, toss trash, vacuum).
Bathroom (launder rug, scrub tub, toilet, mop floor).
Grocery shop
Spinach salad fixings.
Nonfat milk.
Cat litter.
Having such a bitch of a time designing the portfolio page. I think it's because I've got all this anxiety that it needs to be PERFECT. Because the portfolio page itself will be a portfolio piece. I can't just shove up my other work on there and let it be. I still consider myself new to the fancier tricks of CSS but I want to use them to show off my skills. But I don't want to overstep the mark and end up drenched in egg.
Stace has landed (or as Judy emailed me, "The package has arrived"). They'll be here around 1:30 and I won't be done with work, but they can chill and watch tv.
We have like ten billion things planned for the next several days. We're going to see the new Van Gough exhibit. David Sedaris is speaking someplace tonight, we want to see that. Dudley Manlove, Harry Potter, the new library (which I still haven't gotten around to seeing). Jemma mentioned that The Henry has a good exhibit going, too. The crappy weather cuts into some of our outdoorsy adventures, but thank god for SIFF and our mutual worship of quirky films.
