Sooo tired. Worked 11 hours straight on launch, but yay it's up. Woo hoo. *yawn*

Will sleep restlessly tonight, wondering if CS will call frantic at 6am, having found something broken.

The Overviews need to die. It's been 500 years and no one will do anything about them because they're a pain. So ridiculous. I'm going to fucking redo them and if they like, they can pay me for my time. If they don't, I'll swear a blue streak, but practice on complicated shit will be good for me, anyhow.

Finally tore self away from redundant link checking to have dinner at Ellie's. Catherine has been visiting and Ellie and Jeff had us all over for Shabu Shabu. John, Judy, Jeanie, and meee.

Jeff's been working 20hr days on his new site, so I offered my meager services to him. It'd give me something to do and experience to boot. He says he might actually have something for me. It'd be nice to help out since he and Ellie have done so much for me since I've moved here.

Meeting Judy at 10:30am at Greenlake. Very happy to do something non-mental. Too much mental activity lately. And that always makes me a bit crazy. Which is very very bad. Some punishing physical activity is what I need. Must get my aging ass to the Ballard Pool already. I bought the punch card, dusted off my swimsuit. Still can't find my goggles, though *frown* But I did finally fucking find my watch. It'd been missing for like two fucking weeks. Where was it? That's right. Under my fucking keyboard. Could I be more thick-witted?

Also I have to apply to about 3 new job leads tomorrow. Please god let this hideous job search phase of my life be brief. I thank you lord in advance, for your immediate attention to this area of my life. And um. No lightning, please. Amen.

If there is a god, I wonder how annoying it is to have blasphemtastic agnostics pray? Do you get bonus points for praying? Or deductive points for selling out and praying to an ideology you don't believe in out of desperate greed? Or just lightning?

Plenty of time to contemplate all that when I'm in hell, yes?

Okay. Me sleep now. *thud*

OMFG. Yes. Die.

I'm going to fucking redo them and if they like, they can pay me for my time.

I was seriously just talking about this. I don't care about the content (you can deal with that if you like), but I want the fucking presentation of it FIXED. Why the fuck is the whole thing in frames? Why the fuck are we using the same arbitrary filenames we were four years ago? I'm ready to go at it with a rusty spoon, it infuriates me so much.

"Why a spoon, cousin? Why not an axe?"

"Because it's DULL, you TWIT, it'll HURT MORE!"

(I just praise a higher power that they're in their own directories, and not stupidly in the web site's root directory anymore.)

Praise me, not a higher power *grin*

That was my one real contribution to that fucking nightmare. But it's not great either, because there are 3 pages that the two overviews share (those stupid chart/table things), so had to have two copies of those, since the nav had to be different for each overview and I couldn't figure out a way around it at the time.

*hate*hate*hate*

The frames made sense when everyone was running at either 640x480 or 800x600, 7 years ago. Kind of. Stupid Eric. I actually offered to totally redo them once, a few years ago, and was essentially told that I could so long as they were the same. But, you know, different. But not too different.

Whatever.

Cat, let me know if you want unpaid help with them if you seriously do redo them this weekend. 'Cause they piss me off and I want them to not suck, because I think they are (or at least, can be) useful.

And um. Good luck today. Sounds like it's not going to be a fun one.

Oh, but I'm not your first follower...

Think about it. It'll come to you.

I have no idea who he means, but I'll be a follower, too.

First Church of Sarah would be an interesting cult to say the least.

The required reading list ALONE would make me sign up, baby.

You don't like my reading list. :b

TOTALITARIAN AGRICULTURE *yells*

Dude. I fucking walked RIGHT into that myself, didn't I. I even thought about it briefly, but decided you wouldn't remember. Doh!

I'll read it one of these days, dammit.

Why's he have to natter on about TOTALITARIAN AGRICULTURE like every fucking other word? *hiss*

Fuckity. Need to read rest of His Dark Materials, too.

Totally off-topic: Did I tell you J's giving me his Dell? He wasn't quite ready to hand it over this 4th-of-July weekend but will be mailing it to me sometime soon (hopefully).

Me = fucking excited. It's a relatively new P4, too, and beats the crap out of my exisiting POS.

I'll be job searching at a WiFi cafe before you can say "job searching is a big cocksucker"

Because it was, like, his main point?

Hee.

I take it the Dell is a laptop? Ooo.

*randomly finds it hilarious that 'cocksucker' is considered such an insult, since at least 50% of the time it's just the bald truth*

Bah to his main point.

And yesh, Dell=laptop=catveryhappy.

Excuse me while I die laughing now. *snorfle*

Thanks! I'm sure I will call upon you for help. Cause motherfuck those things are ugly. And yeah, I can see how they made sense back in the early 1800s, but now--not so much.

It'll be interesting to see their reaction when I spring this upon them.

*anticipatory glee* And not that I envision either of you running up to TPTB, but shhhh that I'm doing this, okay?

Even if they don't use them (*hiss*) or pay me for the time (*whatever*), it'll be a satisfying project.

And on a totally unrelated note, 'shhhh' spellhchecks as 'chihuahua' *cracksup*

Hee. That is hilarious for some reason.

Probably because the word 'chihuahua' is a fucking riot all on its own.

I should be around this weekend. I need to work on that table so mom can have her garage back, but other than that not doing much and have a half-day on Monday. [insert rejoicing here]

And the animal is just about as funny as the word, too. Little dogs. Oy.

Cool--send me a pic of the finished table, too.

How come the half-day on Monday?

I have no idea. It's the company party, or something. I think.

And will do.

Dude. Totally. I have no idea about the damn content, so it'll be presentation based changes. I even have some ideas. And you know, a lot of spare time these days.
