So, I had dinner with the ever fabulous
jeff_nw. Could he be more perfect? No! And I don't mean perfect in that 'you are so perfect, you are annoying and must die now' kind of way. Even Jeff's so-called flaws are perfect.
We met at The Sahara in the U District. I'd never had Lebanese food before and it was fucking awesome. We split some tabouli and the Sahara platter (hummus, baba ganoush, rice, roasted lamb and chicken, salad, lentil soup, cabbage wrapped meats and falafel) and then a piece of Lebanese baklava.
The food was amazing. The conversation was amazing. And have I mentioned that Jeff is amazing?
We hadn't seen each other for a week or so and had lots of exciting things to catch up on. After dinner, we took a much-needed stroll up The Ave and continued our conversation.
Obviously, I think Jeff is the coolest (because smart, cultured, witty, caring, and charming just equals cool for me), but I just want to add that selfishly what I love so much about him is how he makes me feel. I always leave his company feeling like a pretty cool person myself. He somehow puts all my neurotic anxieties into perspective, so I don't feel like such a freak. And it's also so nice to feel like I have something to offer in terms of perspective on various areas of his life. To feel like my opinion and input is valued.
Ahh, back to work on my project! If I can get Hobbes to stop head-butting me. I hate it when I've just moisturized my face, and he knows it, and thus runs over to ensure I'm properly coated in cat hair.
