inserting himself in his own movies is a brilliant strategy, because, they, you knew he was; you probably can't say the same thing for many other directors. And in his defense, the characters he plays in his own movies don't usually require a giant acting leap, so at least he's not attempting to be the next Lawrence Olivier.
