I bought new sockses todaaaaaay.

Post-work trip to Target with [livejournal.com profile] brabble. I now own bright blue socks that appear to have been knitted out of lint. They're soft and fuzzy and will hopefully be warm enough until I buy some decent polar-fleece ones. Bought a sack of plain, athletic white ones and some striped wool ones as I'm tired of ignoring the holes in my older pairs. I also bought a soft, hooded, grey robe that makes me feel like a monk. It's very exciting. A lot more exciting than damn bra shopping. But I think the two new pairs I've bought are going to be less dreadful than the other horrors in my lingerie drawer.

I Target.

I'm giddy over the scarf I finished knitting for Roger, Sarah's teddy-bear. Somehow the horrid rainbow-ness is offset by the cuteness because it's so little! I wanted to call her and announce that I was on my way over to put in on him. But as she's out with her dad, that would have been obnoxious. Oh dammit. I should have SNUCK into her apartment and put it on him. Oh well, too late and too cold for that now.

We also went by Game Stop to buy PS One memory cards since we'd both lost ours and PS2 doesn't actually save old games on the PS2 memory card.

And I finally bought the Dudley Manlove tickets for Saturday for Sarah and myself. I can't wait to share their frisky goodness with Sarah. They're so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!I usually wait until everyone else has tickets, and if Judy, John, Jeff & Co all bail on me I am going to be one sad, woeful thing.

Had a fun chat with big brother J when I called to wish him a Happy Birthday and remind him that he is very, very, VERY old. J also helpfully had no idea what he wanted for his birthday. So he's getting books. I bought OB some steaks for his belated birthday since the biggest thing I know him to be a fan of is MEAT. I'm going to bake them both cookies and send a card. And thus my sisterly duties will be done for the year.

As my mom has pleaded for us all to come home for Eid this year, I'm semi-looking forward to going now. Mostly to see my darling little nephews. Must take bribe-gifts. I have to make a quillow for Zia before I go, but maybe I'll have time to quick-knit the wee ones some scarves.

OH! And FINALLY!! Ikea got some new dark-red, embroidered quilt covers (Tanja Brodyr) in stock! I was able to place a catalog order and will be rejoicing in 7-10 days. I need to buy some dark-cream sheets now. Yay!

I think it's time for some FINAL FANTASY TACTICS now that I have a memory card. Whee!

Were you named after anyone?
No. But I was named for something. The translation of my name is the verb 'to live.' I had an older sister who died in infancy. My brothers were next, and my parents really wanted a daughter. So when I was born, they were hoping that I wouldn't um die.

When did you last cry?
Yesterday. Watching Sense and Sensibility.

Do you like your handwriting?
It is appalling. I'm very proud.

What is your favorite lunchmeat?
Pastrami.

Any bad habits?
I bite my cuticles. Mmm. Chewy.

What is your most embarrassing CD on the shelf?
Some Time Life Love Songs collection that is so sappy it drips.

If you were another person, would YOU be friends with you?
Yes. Though we'd have to take turns being spazzy.

Have you ever told a secret you swore not to tell?
No. Okay. Well, in 6th grade I blurted out that Kim Johnson thought Mike Lynch was cute. She never forgave me for it, either. I still feel bad about it.

Do looks matter?
To me? No--not to judge a person's character. But sure, it's reasonable to need to feel attracted to your mate. But do looks matter in the world today? Sure. Better looking people get perks all the time. Just a facet of reality.

Where is your second home?
I suppose I should say Los Angeles because that's where my parents are, but I'm going to say the Bay Area, because I lived there for so damn long.

Do you trust others easily?
I would usually just say 'No' but I find I trust people pretty easily if they seem trust-worthy. However, I wouldn't test that trust with anything life-shattering for a long time.

What class in school do you think is totally useless?
PE. Only because it's taught improperly. School isn't meant to be Lord of the Fucking Flies.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Yesh.

Have you ever been in a mosh pit?
Nope.

Would you bungee jump?
Not a chance.

Do you untie your shoes when you taken them off?
No.

Do you think that you are strong?
Emotionally - Yes. As much of a sentimental, sensitive sap I am, I'm fairly solid. Physically - Erm. Improvements underway.

What color pants are you wearing?
These weird, blue, capri-length, seersucker pj-bottoms that are super comfy.

What are you listening to right now?
Linkin Park.

Last thing you ate?
Tunafish sandwich.

Last person you talked to on the phone?
Saaaaaaaaarah.

Do you like the person who sent you this?
I have no idea where I got this. It was saved on my harddrive.

Favorite drink?
Nonalcoholic: diet pepsi. Alcoholic: Mojito.

Do you wear contacts?
Nope. Glasses, though.

Siblings?
Two bear-like big brothers I adore.

Favorite month?
January. The year starts anew!

Are you too shy to ask someone out?
Yes. Well, as a date-date yes. But to approach someone and say they have to have lunch with me because I think they're cool--that I do.

Hugs or kisses?
Yes, please.

Living arrangements?
Flat that I share with my long-suffering cat.

What books are you reading?
Subtle Knife by Phillip Pullman; High Fidelity by Nick Hornby; Eats Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss

What's on your mousepad?
Some free Savvis thing. Green exploding swirly thingies.

What did you watch on TV last night?
Erm. It was Sunday, right? Some TLC thingie. What Not To Wear, I think.
