Making steady progress.

Kitchen is sparkling clean. You know I mean business when I crawl around on the floor on my hands and knees rubbing the vinyl with a disposable wipe. I didn't rearrange all the cabinets yet, but this is Stage 1 of the cleaning. Stage 2 will be later on.

Jeff came by! *shriek* We exchanged presents and hugs and lots of fabulous conversation. Jeff brought over two kinds of homemade cookies and the jam he made over the summer (raspberry and strawberry) and he also got me a couple of cds: Elliot Smith and The Hidden Cameras. I really rely on friends to introduce me to new music, so this is very exciting. Also, I'd like to add that the border on The Hidden Cameras is a lot of naked butts. So already I'm pretty damn thrilled!

There was much excited chatter about getting to work together soon. Jeff clearly loves working there and the people are awesome and employees are well treated and I may die of excitement. Seriously, I'm terrified I'm going to wake up and this will all be a dream. Starting this Monday I'm going to re-work my Adobe Framemaker lessons and be as up to speed on it as I can be. It'll be nice to walk in with a more comfortable skill level at that. Jeff's also going to forward some articles on gene expression and other science-y stuff so I can get a little more familiar with what they are writing about. I need to have my folks send my textbook box. Of course that stuff's pretty old. I might need to buy a couple of new textbooks on this stuff, ooh and maybe bioinformatics, too. *bounce*

I think I was a little um unrealistic about how much stuff I'd get done today. So for tonight, I think I'll be able to do the living room clean up and maybe start in the bedroom. I will do the bathroom tomorrow. And maybe the closets. Normally it doesn't take that long to clean my place, but it's gotten particularly messy lately and I'm being particularly anal about how clean I want things to be.

God, today went by fast. Not that I'm ready to end the day or anything. But I can't believe it's suddenly 9pm. It was 1pm like 5 minutes ago. And I mean, I woke up early, too. Not one of those days where you wake up at noon and lounge in bed until 3 and then are surprised when you look outside and it's dark. Huh.

Before I go, [livejournal.com profile] seattle cracks my shit up. Especially [livejournal.com profile] jameth. Makes me think of: I can smell your brains.
