Sometimes I think I love the Appendices of LotR more than the movies. Watching disc 3 and hearing about how much Tolkien loved his wife and the symbolism in the movie reflecting his own life and experiences. I didn't know that Tolkien had Luthien inscribed on his wife's gravestone and Beren on his own. That's... beautiful. And how he wasn't able to marry her because his guardian forbade it until he was 21. So he waited until midnight of his 21st birthday and wrote a letter of proposal for her.

I want to re-read the books. Right now.
