the week in anticipation
Sep. 13th, 2004 02:29 pmSo much to do, so many to seeee.
Monday: Yoga classwith Jeanne and circuit training thingie; Dinner at Jeff's!
Tuesday: Step class;Hero with David taking Judy out for her birthday dinner
Wednesday: Yoga with Ellie
Thursday: Job interview; step class;taking Judy out for her birthday dinner; leave for Vancouver--Greg!
Friday: All Greg! All the time!
Saturday: Greg!; Leave for Seattle in time for Judy's birthday party at 6pm
Sunday: Morning Yoga and swimming
As for now, I have the joy of cleaning up my cluttered flat. Jeff, who is quite possibly the most amazing mortal on planet earth, has graciously offered to take care of Hobbsie this weekend (if he's not going out of town). So I need to make my place less slothful.
I also have to go grocery shopping. Bleh. Will do after circuit training tonight. Obsessed with fitness these days, which is much better than being obsessed with chocolate. DETERMINED to lose 10lbs before the end of the goddamnmotherfucking month.
I can totally do it, too. Except for Judy's birthday dinner on Thursday, I'm not eating out this week (which is always my downfall) and will be working out every day, including in Vancouver. Will be cooking in at Greg's, which again will be much healthier than going out.
I wish I could do things in a normal, even-keeled manner. But I have come to the realization that I am an obsessive freak. And the only way for me to do anything is to be obsessive about it.
Next week: Getting obsessive about finding work.

mmmmm risotto
Sep. 13th, 2004 10:57 pmYoga wasn't 30 minutes, it was 60 minutes. Thus I was unable to try the circuit training class. But that's okay, because yoga was fun and challenging. Not beat-your-ass-and-make-you-like-it like Amanda's step class, but that's okay, too. There's a finite amount of excruciating pain I can handle.
Anyhow. Hurried to dress after yoga and actually made it to Chris and Jeff's place on time. Happily Craig, Greg, and David were outside the building and I didn't get lost.
We can add amazing chef to
jeff_nw's vast list of attributes. For our lucky group, he made: risotto, roasted chicken with lemon sauce, and green beans. See, it sounds just like normal food, but it wasn't anything so mundane. The risotto was to die for. I believe we all independently contemplated licking the pot clean. The lemon sauce complimented the roasted chicken perfectly and for a seemingly simple dish, was really outstanding. The green beans were cooked perfectly. Chris had made a lovely orange poppy seed cake for dessert.
I'm going to have to beg for the risotto recipe because it was really exceptional.
Despite the amazing food, I managed to stay within points by eating a small healthy choice entree for lunch and nothing else. I'm glad I saved up for the meal, it was well worth it. And with the hour of yoga, I had activity points left over that I didn't use. So yay.
Again, it's wonderful to continue getting to know Jeff's friends. They're such warm people and they crack me up. We babbled half the night about movies, comic books, and silly pet stories.
Reminds me of this translation of an Araucanian Indian saying: "I shall come again, for I like myself when I am with you." I'm really looking forward to spending more time with these wonderful guys.
