...and we'll have fun fun fun
Oct. 2nd, 2004 08:51 pmI can't believe it's only Saturday night.
The last couple of days have been jam packed with settling
brabble in. Sarah arrived a day early and it was fabulous, because it was her birthday! I've never been able to spend her birthday with her, so this utterly ruled.
And because fate requires that too many things happen on one day, while nothing happens on others, I'd promised to take Judy to her doctor's appt on Thursday afternoon. Nothing horrible, but now that she and John are planning on having a baby, some appts are required. One of the best things about having a friendship that spans decades is seeing the changes our lives have taken over time. Who knew back in our sandbox days that we'd see each other through thick and thin (or 'sick and sin').
This visit was unfortunately a bit painful for Judy, so I was really glad to be there with her. Afterwards, she was still a bit tender, so I stayed with her and watched some tv. Sarah called while we were still at the hospital. And let me just say that I feel pretty lucky to have such wonderful, understanding friends. I felt terrible that I wasn't there to greet Sarah at her new place, but she understood and managed the move-in paperwork and started the process of settling into her new place. Judy, conversely, felt bad for keeping me from welcoming Sarah. How do people with catty, bitchy friends handle it?
