Last Tuesday was both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address. As Air America Radio pointed out, it is an ironic juxtaposition: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, and the other involves a groundhog.

I knew where it was going, but it still made me laugh. Hee.

Also, my office is so cute. I received three valentine's day cards today. One from The Amazing Spiderman, one from "The Guys" and one that I ate because it was strawberry flavored chocolate (tiny and 1pt and so I'm not even cheating!).

Lunch was disproportionately exciting. I had pb&j. The pb was soooo good. And the j was the homemade strawberry jam that was part of the Package of Loooove that I got from Jeff for Christmas. I haven't had pb&j for ages. It's so very very good. At 2pts a tablespoon though, I don't think I'd eat it every day. As much as I'd like to. Tomorrow: tuna! (My life is riveting, n'est-ce pas?)

Two more hours until work is over and I go face the spandex-clad hell-beast that is Amanda. I even have my little notebook so I can start recording my times/distances on the treadmill. And new non-complaint-rock tunes to bop along to on my nomad!

*bite*

In other news, Jeff told me the other day:

"You're the maid of honor, not the dominatrix of honor!!"

Hrmph. He's no fun.

The one I heard recently was:

We got bad news. George W. Bush saw his shadow, so we get six more years of war....

Hee, funny. Of course it's all still maddening.

I remember reading around someone's Friend's List and someone ([livejournal.com profile] montoya?) writing that he was going to treat the next few years as an act of god. As in a natural disaster. Something you were powerless against and just had to endure.

I thought it was funny and true. Though, I'll still do my part to donate and vote and help make the Democratic Party stronger in any way that I can.
