You know, I think I have this sleeping thing down, finally. Okay, I know it's only Tuesday, but I've been going to bed around 11, and waking up fairly perky around 7. I lounge in bed for 30 minutes with Hobbes and then get up and start my day. Not bad. It works better than going to bed at midnight and waking up at 8, not sure why. But yay.

Hobbes is meowing and head butting my shins like he's never known the love of food before. Sheesh. But he sure is cute.

The look that says: Feed me, bitch. NOW!

This was taken shortly after I read Hobbes "Dream of a Thousand Cats" by Neil Gaiman

I also got the second Lucifer book. Love it. Must control self and not stay up until 4am reading it. It's very cool seeing Sandman characters again.

Hrm. I suppose I should get dressed now and go to work, eh? Otherwise it makes the whole waking up at a proper time irrelevant.

I love big orange cats, and he is quite handsome!

Awww, what a face! I love the little blaze right up his nose.

I hate it when he follows me to the door when I leave. Much harder to leave him for the day!

I know what you mean. I bet he makes the big-eyed Cute Face, too!

He DOES. The little bastard. And since I'd spent the last two years telecommuting, it's still absurdly difficult to be away from Sir Cuteness for the entire day.

They do that on purpose. (On a really good day, I get *four* sets of Cute Eyeballs staring guilt-inducingly at me....) I bet he misses you, too, since he was used to you being home - not to add to the guilt. :)

You make me want to have more kitties :) How is your newest addition doing?

And I know he misses me. I've had cats before who were pretty enh about whether or not I was home (so long as they were fed) but Hobbsie really hates being alone.

(No worries about adding guilt, I know he'd prefer that I work and keep him in luxury!)

They get addictive after a while! Besides, clearly he'd like a friend. :) It's too bad it's impossible to explain to him that you're leaving so as to keep him in cat food....

The Original Three are beginning to consider not dismembering him, though not for lack of trying on his part. (He's settling in OK, but still a kitten-pain-in-the-ass. He can be really sweet when he's tired, though; he gave the big one a bath yesterday.)

I wish Hobbes didn't loathe and detest all other kitties. He just barely tolerated his brother, Calvin when he was alive. In his cranky old man stage, I don't want to plague him with a new, frisky kitty. He's set in his ways, selfish, and irritable.

Heh. This is beginning to sound like what went wrong with my last relationship *grin* SO, anyhow. Hobbes needs to just end his days alone and I'll someday get a new pair of kitties. (Once I'm done being hysterical.)

Glad to hear your throng is doing better. They're so gorgeous--all of them :)

Yeah, joking aside, if he's older and set in his ways, he'll be much happier without the plaguing of some young whippersnapper. It's a shame, because that would help with the loneliness, but obviously not if it would make him miserable. (I think one of ours would've been just as happy as an only cat, but fortunately she's not the murdering-new-cats type - she just disappears under the bed a lot. and eventually she comes around.)

I've learned from this experience, after all, that a kitten can make even a 3-year-old cat look (and feel, poor thing) like the oldest of old ladies.

Agreed. He's just too old to have a kitten crawling all over him.

I had an old siamese that was driven insane by two new kittens. He really hated it so much that eventually my parents took pity on him, and he gleefully spent the rest of his days as an only-cat at their house.

So, no new kitties for me. But that's fine, I don't mind being a single-cat woman.

Muhahaa. Lucifer will steal your soul.

I now own all five collections and so had to think of something else to obsess over -- mainly, Hellblazer. The local bookstore is sucking me dry. WAAAAHHHH.

I thought the first one was good, but just good--not spectacular. I think it takes me a book or two to get really hooked into something (it was that way with Sandman, for me, too).

It's SO good. Just the first two issues within the trade.

I didn't realize there were only 5 collections. I thought there were more, dammit.

Must get Sarah into this. I think she'd like it.
