I love my cousin Mo. She got in on Thursday and it was just wonderful having her around. We did a whirlwind tour of Seattle sights and restaurants and as she's young and frisky, she kept me up until 5am on Saturday night. It's been a long time since I've stayed up that late.

We went to the aquarium, public market, pacific science center (to see an IMAX film on the Nile), Greenlake, Japanese Gardens, UW, U Village, Pioneer Square, Elliot Bay Bookstore. We ate at Ray's Boathouse, Lowell's, Bizarro, Hi Life, Pair, and Jitterbug. We took 9000 pictures. I'm going to make her a scrapbook of the trip, because she's just that adorable.

I'm trying to coax her into moving up here. She's promised to apply to UW for med school. She's insane, though. She had to finish her med school application while up here and I did a lot of editing. Which, because I am a big nerd, was a lot of fun.

I miss her already. But, it's nice to get back to a mellow pace and god, less food.

I stayed up until 3am working on Amy's bridal shower cards. I don't do a lot of arts/crafts, and it took awhile to get right, but I was pleased with the final result. The cards are a pretty robin's egg blue and have three layers glued on top of it. The bottom-most is a patterned rectangle (I bought a pack of varied blue/green designed papers), the middle was a thin silver paper, and the top-most layer is a stamp of a bride I thought was very pretty--simple and elegant. Thank god for stamps. I have awful handwriting and could never have neatly penned 25 cards. I bought the bridal stamp, and a 'bridal shower' stamp. I printed the actual invitation on vellum and glued the inside edge in, so it would still flutter, but not fall out. I bought breast cancer stamps because Amy does a lot of charitable runs for cancer. Also, the breast cancer stamp is very pretty. And they're finally mailed out. Eeek! I haven't mailed out the ones for the other bridesmaids yet, actually, because I ran out of pretty stamps and need to buy more (plus, they already know when/where/etc). Will mail those out tomorrow.

It was worth the effort, and the cards came out a lot nicer than I expected. Pictures if I can coax Sarah into scanning them.

Work continues to be hectic. Did I mention that the paperwork went through for my contract? I'm officially employed through 2005. Yay!

And praise the lord, Jeff is back in town! He emailed me today and I'm going to pounce that boy tomorrow morning. I've missed him so much!
