I should so be in bed. I should so be asleep. It's beyond pathetic how many times I write something like this instead of just going to bed.

Gah. I feel so out of practice at this. And BORING.

It's been awhile since I've updated. It's been so crazy here with FamilyPalooza 2005. My dad left on Sunday after a lovely weekend here. We ran around doing touristy things and just having a blast. Highlight was giving him a tour of my office and introducing him to the techpubs team I work with. He looked like he was going to burst with excitement. I love me dad. And really, most of it was wonderful. Religion and marriage would creep up subtlety and I would just blithely smile and nod and it would go away.

Met up with Sarah tonight for dinner and Greenlake and Amazing Race. Lovely night full of giddy hysteria. (Mmm. Sugar.) Sarah? Rules.

And wow, here it is--Wednesday. This week is already flying by. It's been crazy at work, but a good crazy. I finished my latest project ahead of schedule. Woo!

I thought this weekend was going to be nice and mellow, but it's already kind of cranked up. Which is not necessarily bad, but I think next weekend will be the mellow one. Friday night plans include getting hammered with Sarah and watching When Harry Met Sally. Will try to coax Jeff to come view it. Predict hissing and crucifix-waving. Saturday: Maroon 5 concert. Love them. *coo* And then on Sunday, it's Kim's birthday and I want to find her a present as awesome as she is. BBQ in Auburn.

But next weekend, next weekend I am curling into a fetal position and locking myself in my closet.

Love: TiVo, bright evenings, my lovely Vornado fan, smoked turkey-brie-hot-red-pepper-sandwiches, seedless red grapes, Bodega La Tapada Guitian Godello, and my new, thriving herb garden (dill, Italian parsley, Italian oregano, bay leaves, and mint)

Hate: not-so-recent haircut, sleep requirements, laundry, messy fucking flat, duvet covers I want that cost fucking $300, icky hot weather, chapped lips, and not having enough hours in day

But omg, I think it's close enough that I can officially get excited about the next Harry Potter book. *quick, preliminary squee* I may need to re-read the whole series in anticipatory glee.

So I have this rant. But I don't want to make it. Partly because I don't want to hurt people (not all people, certainly not YOU) and partly because I don't want to admit I have this rant. Because it's a mixed rant. Frustration and misery; happiness and joy. BLAH. Maybe some night. When I'm drunk.

So instead I will end with saying that I love Jeff. Because omfg when I feel like I'm hanging on by a thread, that's exactly when he pops by my office and says something that manages to be brilliant and funny and true and wise. He's so money and he doesn't even know it. Also it horrifies him when I gush. So there's that added bonus.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck. Must sleep now.

I'm glad to see your post. I was wondering how you were doing - though I could have missed your recent posts because I've been sans-LJ lately since I'm at work so darned much (well, like 30 hours/wk, but after being at home for six months almost, it feels like a lot!).

Be well. :)

Hi! Well that was really nice to hear :)

I've been in the same boat as you--no LJ because too much work. And I went through my own riveting stay-at-home-without-money phase of joy.

It's weird to suddenly have to budget time for everything, isn't it?

i'm discovering i'm more efficient in my computer time. our inventory computer has net access, but i know it wouldn't go over well with the boss, so i haven't dared to check my email (though the thought did cross my mind).

It is spectacular. Especially on fresh, French bread. I got the peppers from my local deli, and they're amazing--spicy and tangy. Yum!
