Had lovely night out with Ellie and Jeff en route taking them to the airport. Went to tasty El Gaillto's, which I'm sure I'm misspelling. None of us can figure out Judy's sudden moratorium on Mexican food. No matter. More guacamole for us. Ellen'd just come from Happy Hour with some work colleagues, so that was entertaining. She shared the shocking news that she will be 30 on Wednesday. Ellie's always been such a little sister, so I still picture her as the ever bubbly, hyper 17 year old that she is. She's possibly even more traumatized about turning 30 than I was.

I need to get cracking on her birthday present. Ack.

Dear GOD am I full. And I should go to bed early, because I have to be up at 7:30am tomorrow to catch the M18 downtown, but of course I'm not sleepy. Mrh.

In other tragic news, apparently Sean Bean has like 1600 children. Ok, three. But that's three too many. If he has any more, he's definitely off the list.

Also just learned they're making a movie about Troy. Sean Bean to play Odysseus, Orlando Bloom to play Paris. Brad Pitt, somewhat inconceivably, to play Achilles. I'm curious, after seeing the preview (which didn't show that much) if they'll do a decent job or completely pants it up. The fact that Brad Pitt has top billing lends to less charitable thoughts. Oh well. Also hope Orlando Bloom doesn't limit himself to period pieces forevermore, as that would be annoying.

But oh oh Julie Christie to play Madame Rosmerta in the next Harry Potter movie. For some reason, it absolutely fascinates me as I see these character roles filled. I'm also absolutely dying to see Emma Thompson play Sybill Trelawney. I think she'll do such a fantastic job. But then, I'm all about Emma.

Finished watching Y Tu Mamá También earlier today and thought it was terrific. Now have hope that Cuarón will do a better job with the next HP movie than Chris Columbus did. I know they're kid's movies, but despite attention to detail, the first two movies completely missed the spirit of the books for me. Meh.
