When voting tomorrow, (you ARE going to vote, right?) be sure to check your ballot before turning it in!
Snopes has verified the story of a Texan woman who voted a straight Democratic ticket, but on review found her ballot marked for Bush/Cheney.
I'm so worried about tomorrow, I can hardly see straight. And stories like this are ulceratious.

Date: 2004-11-02 01:54 am (UTC)KC elections still use the old-fashioned fill in the circles with a pen method, and I'm going to prefer that until someone makes voting software that isn't so error-prone.

AMEN.
Then you're gonna HATE this one...
Date: 2004-11-02 02:41 am (UTC)As I point out in my comment at the bottom, unlike recent (now debunked) accusations about the presidents national guard service, there is no way to verify this story until AFTER the election. It might be true or it might not, but the timing smells of Nixon's "dirty tricks" squad, or the famous LBJ attempt to smear an opponent in a Texas gubernatorial campaign by starting a rumor that the man had had carnal relations with livestock while growing up on a farm. When told that "we can't accuse him of being a sheepfucker, Lyndon. You know it's not true," Johnson replied,"I know. I just want to get the sumbitch to deny it."

Date: 2004-11-02 03:51 am (UTC)I'm so ready for this election to be OVER WITH. (Provided, of course, that my candidate wins.)
