Even my parents, who have voted as fiscally-conservative Republicans their entire lives, voted Kerry/Edwards today. My dad called me to make sure I was going to vote today (he's never done that before, either). He happily said he voted a straight Democratic ticket.

Date: 2004-11-02 08:56 pm (UTC)My liberal bias is fairly obvious, and I guess I just didn't want anyone to think my parents were ever social-agenda Republicans.
They're religious, but have the wacky notion that there ought to be separation of church (mosque, whatever) and state.
This administration has utterly fucked up the economy and set a record level debt, so no fiscal-Republican with half a brain would vote Bush/Cheney.
My parents are also, however, horrified by what this administration has done across the board. Even if voting for Bush/Cheney was a fiscally-conservative choice, they wouldn't have voted Republican this year.
Does that make sense?
