May. 2nd, 2005 04:33 pmSo after a badly disrupted night's sleep, I woke up with a throbbing headache. God bless Ibuprofen. I stumbled around getting dressed, trying to forget about my weird dreams (which largely involved my being both a man—possibly Hugh Laurie—and being fed to sharks by my family). Fed the kitty, packed my lunch, and managed to not forget my office badge or Netflix envelope.
In good news, I also lost 2lbs. Wholly undeservedly as I ate like I was preparing for a fucking famine this past weekend. But hey, yay regardless. It was a great motivator for Boot Camp with Jeff, starting today. I'd anticipated being 5lbs up.
As for the first day of D&W (as Jeff calls it, Deprivation & Weight-loss), it's going well. It always amazes me how much better I do with breakfast and a late afternoon piece of fruit. Also I need to drink more water, dammit. Never get enough water.
Sarah emailed me in the middle of the day to ask if I felt like walking around the lake, and it was the best suggestion ever. It sounds a lot more comforting than the gym tonight. I just need to grab my gym bag and change here before I leave for the night.
With Jeff The Magnificent's help, I've also made some nice progress on the proteomics work I've been assigned. It's design-oriented and as always, he had excellent input. I've hit a nice stride here at work, I did some extra work and caught up on some of the items that tend to get frantic, and can be productive without being freaked.
Okay. Just one more hour-ish to quittin' time. And I'm already looking forward to bed.
