Oh. My. God.

I did it. I took the day off! *bounce*

It's been a glorious morning already, with the sleeping-in and bouncing around chatting with Hobbsie. I watched a TiVo'd bit of Galaxy Quest. And I'd forgotten how funny and cute that movie was. So that was awesome. Most of the jasmine blossoms have opened, so the living room smells really nice.

I'm going to do laundry and clean up a bit and then watch MORE TV. I might pop down to the public market and buy some flowers and fresh fruit!

I can do anything! Cause it's my day off!

I should actually go to the stupid post office and mail off a few things. And maybe I will. Cause I can. Cause it's my day off!

Though it's a bit hard to do things when you're bouncing off the walls. Which I am. Cause it's my day off! *beam*

I can't believe I finished the work I needed to finish yesterday. It seemed so impossible. But it's done! And it gives me a great place to start again tomorrow, and I don't feel so freaked out anymore.

It's going to be okay! And all 'cause (say it with me) 'it's my day off!'

BTW, I'm soooooooo sorry I haven't responded to your e-mail or even to your comment on my journal. I've been really hit-and-miss with correspondence lately because I'm ... ahhh ... a flake? No, I'm BUSY, that's it. And crazed. And when that happens, the people I actually LIKE fall to the wayside because I want to write a REALLY good email back but I don;t have time so I set it aside ...

I defintely go through phases where I do exactly what you outlined. So while I'm genuinely overjoyed to hear from you, and very glad that it was what I figured (that you were busy and swamped), it's all good!

Have you seen the DVD of Galaxy Quest? One of the audio tracks through the whole movie is an extraterrestrial language -- through the whole movie. It is fun.

I'm taking some time off to vacate Portland and visit Boston and some of the people there -- on balance it might not be completely restful, since I'll spend about a third of the trip flying, but it'll be great to be out there again. (Even if it'll be hellishly hot.)
