quick update
Jul. 6th, 2005 04:22 pm1. When running late to work, it is not helpful to hide your keys. Putting them, for example, in your purse before you leave the house will only lead to frantic hunting and hyperventilation.
2. Audio CDs that have automatic browser-installing, video-installing crap on them are INFURIATING. I want to listen to the fucking CD. If I wish to have it dance the tarantella, I will inform it otherwise. Hiss.
3. I have a tummy ache.
4. I got to spend some time with the handsome lawyer upstairs. He makes me all a-flutter.

Date: 2005-07-07 02:02 am (UTC)Speaking of CDs, I was really pissed off because the new Rob Thomas CD won't play on a lot of CD-ROMs as part of an anti-piracy thing. Which means I can't play it on my home pc.
It was more annoying than anything else, as there are always ways around that kind of thing. But as I bought the CD legally, I should be able to play it in any CD player.

Date: 2005-07-07 02:47 pm (UTC)The thing that's largely held me back from buying one has been the price. Not so much that I can't afford it, which I happily can, but I think they're priced so outrageously that it makes me somewhat irrationally mad.
When they finally dropped the 4gb ones down to like $200, I almost bought one. But then ...it's only 4gb! So I've been in this constant push-pull internal debate about it.

Date: 2005-07-07 03:18 pm (UTC)By the price you cite, it looks like you're looking at the iPod minis. ($200 for 4gb, $250 for 6gb) But! The regular iPod prices have dropped ($300 for 20gb, and $400 for 60gb -- grr) So, if you were looking for something really small and convenient, I'd recommend the iPod Shuffle ($130 for 1gb), but if you're looking for bang for your buck, I've definitely vote for the regular iPod.
(If you want a used 20gb Creative Jukebox, I'm sure that could be arranged, too.)

Date: 2005-07-07 03:32 pm (UTC)And it's a slippery slope of ...$200 is an okay price. But oh look for $50 more I could get 2 more gb. But for only another $50 I could get 14 more gb!! But, if I'm spending that much, I may as well shell out just another $100 to get 3x the space!
And then I get mad and don't buy any of them. :)
And thank you for that incredibly generous offer. But I actually have a puny 125mb Creative Nomad and it's serving me pretty well. Which is another reason I haven't bought an iPod. I haven't really needed one yet!

Keeps life interesting, I suppose!
