random bits
Aug. 2nd, 2005 10:37 am1. It's incredible how restorative a full night's sleep can be. Came home straight from work yesterday, had dinner, watched some tv, did my French homework, and tucked myself into bed at 9:45pm. I didn't fall asleep right away, but I think the rest did me good. Also, spooning with Hobbsie is restorative for the soul. He's been very lovely-dovey lately.
2. It's also amazing how, when faced with writing a serious paper, I find that I cannot proceed until my desk is immaculate. This was the case in college, it is the case now. On the other hand, I finally filed the mountain of paperwork that was on my desk. And now I'm LJing to avoid it further.
3. I've finally caught up with all my laundry and everything I own is now clean. I still have to empty my dresser drawers which are filled with things I don't wear, and make room for the stuff heaped on my desk at home which is the stuff I wear regularly.
4. I also realized how frequently I was coming in to work late (usually 20-30min). My work is getting done fine, and people are laid back here. But as a contractor, hoping to be hired, it's a stupid move. I need to stop doing that. Which means I need to get to sleep at a reasonable hour, which means I need to calm my freaking lifestyle down a bit. I got to work at 8am today (so I can leave early for my French lesson) but in general, I need to work consistent hours, dammit.
5. I need to stop by Fred Meyer on the way home tonight to return the two frames that were too small, buy Scrabble (Which, omfgyay. I finally realized that my mission in life is to find a man who loves to play Scrabble and will play it with me on a regular basis in exchange for home-cooked meals), and buy cat food/litter. Also, people food.
6. I can't freaking wait for the weekend. I mean, more than usual. Jeff's kindly agreed to take care of Hobbes on Friday night, so Sarah and I will come to work with our bags packed and will try to leave by 4:30 for Sequim. *hopping with excitement*
