I hear ya. Though really, I came to X-files pretty late and watched it primarily for the stand-alone, funny episodes. And to coo over Mulder and Scully. Every time they started talking about the conspiracy, my eyes would glaze over.
Do I watch Lost? Nay Sirrah! I LIVE Lost! Hehe. ^_^
It is a very very very very addicting show. Mostly because nothing makes any sense! I think I shall actually be quite upset once they start explaining things. I don't want to know why they have to push the button, who the Others are, what the monster is or what the black cloud is made of.
...
Well, okay, I lied. I do want to know... I just don't want it to be over yet! ^_^
(And the fact that Sayid is uber-cute has nothing to do with anything. Really.)
I really was hooked at the beginning, but I really need some payoff to stay invested, and I'm easily irritated! I do still sorta watch it (missed the last ep), but mostly to indulge in that irritation, "Ah-ha! Still useless!"
I saw some of the writers and actors at Comic-Con, and they were so earnest and cute, I really wanted to still like the show, too..
I think the reason I still like it is because I can still make up my own answers to the 'unknowns'. I have my own secret little matrix of answers that I've horded since it began. *hordes happily* ^_^
But I must say, if this turns out to all be a dream, or something stupid like that... ooooo the flames I will send! I hate X-Files for it's stupid Alien-Conspiracy plot and I'm really hoping it's not some Deus ex Machina thing this time too. :P
That's cool. I think I have fairly limited imagination when it comes to fictional things. I want the creators/authors to provide answers (and ones that I like, to boot). It's why fan fiction has never worked for me.
And I hope that ifwhen they do provide answers, they aren't just stupid!
