So I did leave my flat briefly (briefly, okay!) and drove to the local comic book store.

1. I bought the latest SIP. Spoilers below.
2. All the individual issues of Y: The Last Man
3. All the individual issues of Fables

I just can't wait 6 months between damn trade paperbacks. I really love both of these series. They didn't have, tragically, all of the issues. So the missing issues are on order, and should be here in a week. I can get started on my read of Y, but not of Fables. *howl*

I'm going a little stir-crazy here, now.

Excellent issue. Finally some progress on David's storyline. But, scary. I don't want David to die. NOooooOOoooooooooOOoo. Loved his date with Casey. And really, I just love Casey. Who'd a thought, considering her entry to the series, that she'd be someone you just couldn't resist. Interesting to see Tambi shed a tear, too.

Katchoo's reaction to Jet reminds me of how I often feel with Sarah. *blink*blink*blink*

I still don't know what to do with Mary Midnight. It's so out of nowhere. And, I'm sorry, but it's a bit jumping the shark for me. I know it's meant to be comic relief and parts of it are genuinely funny, but I'd rather Marie had stayed Marie.

The most startling reveal is one that I clearly missed the first sign of in the last issue's Letter's Page. Terry Moore has announced that he is working on his final story arc. That the series will conclude with issue 89 or 90 in May of 2007. As much as I know some fans are ready for the series to be done with, I'm not one of them. I can't imagine not having SiP to look forward to. I don't care if this frees Terry up to pursue other stories. I don't want Francie and Katchoo to go away. But I guess I have the next year and a half to get used to the idea. *sad*

Hey, since you were at the local comic shop - did you see the latest issue (No. 2) of Alex Ross' _Justice_? DC's site says it was shipped already, but I've been to trhree local shops and none of them have it yet.

You know, I don't follow that series so I didn't note whether or not it was.

Well, Alex Ross is my Personal Deity, and so I hang on every piece that he does like manna from heaven.

_Justice_, just so you know, is Alex's take on the JLA plus a new and very creepy congregation of villains that mirrors Hanna-Barbera's Legion of Doom. Sorta. His Cheetah, frex, is creepy and scary yet visually powerful, plus Parasite, Clayface, and the old standbies, Black Manta, Braniac and Lex Luthor.

I'll have to check it out, though in general (Astro City and The Incredibles aside), I'm not a big of the superhero genre.

Thanks for the recommendation!
