Note to self: If you immediatley turn off your alarm—not snooze—then the likelihood of you getting up on time is very slim.

Off-switch? Pshaw! I just hit snooze until I've run out of snoozes... then my cat/dog/hubby get's fed up with me and makes me ooze outta bed. ^_~

Have you seen the alarm clock that hides? ^_^

I have seen that one, and it's hilarious! Normally I'm not this bad. But I repositioned my alarm clock and for whatever reason this morning I didn't hit snooze.

Though even normally, I only hit snooze once. Lie in bed vaguely pouty and then haul myself out. I don't leave myself a lot of snooze time :)

See, this is one reason why I have two alarm clocks. I think I did that this morning.

I should totally set a backup alarm. Though Hobbsie generally functions as one on most days.

No kidding. I've gotta stop doing that.

Although [livejournal.com profile] phemale will likely start setting hers to keep me good. I can use any help I can get.

Yay for [livejournal.com profile] phemale! And we all need a little extra help. Especially in these gloomy winter months!

You need a bigger bedroom.
Bed in one corner, alarm clock in opposite corner.
If I could reach my alarm from the bed, I would never get up in the morning.

And come December 16th, I will have a bigger one!

See, this is why I rely on the clock radio & keep it more than arm's length away ...!

When I use the clock radio thing, the talking-people just get incorporated into my dreams weirdly....

Yeah, I guess that wouldn't work so well, then.

For me, the talk sort of lubricates my waking brain. Next thing you know, I'm thinking like a conscious person!

What really works for me is light. I'm thinking of getting one of those gradually adjusting lamp things. Sun lamps?

That's a good idea!

Wouldn't work for me, though; I can sleep in the noonday sun, if I'm tired enough ...

If I'm tired enough I probably can, too. But on normal days, light, even dim light coming through the blinds, will do it.

My dad has one of those and he loves it, wakes him right up without any harsh blaring or cranky morning starts. He did have to play with it a bit to figure out when he needed to set it so that he brain got the wake-up signal.

Nifty little thing, that lamp. ^_^

Judy got one of those too, because she really is hit hard by the winter darkness.

I'm going to have to investigate getting one myself. Because it really does make me a lot more awake in the morning!

I discovered today that my snooze only works for an hour. Then it just shuts off.

*hrm*

Huh. That's...potentially inconvenient.

Yeah. Uhm. Heh.

Possibly I should learn to go to bed at an hour decent enough that I don't need to snooze for a full 60 minutes the next morning.

It helped. Seriously.

Yay for [livejournal.com profile] phemale, indeed.

Easier said than done. Doesn't everyone who needs to get up at 5:45am regularly stay up 'til 3? (Willingly or not...)
