another lovely day here in shangri-la
Nov. 25th, 2005 11:40 amThere is something so decadently exciting about a four-day weekend. Normally this would be Sunday. But it's not! It's Friday! There are still two days of fun ahead!
I slept in until 10 again. I feel like I'm catching up from last week's deprivation, and it feels so damn good. Also, I worship my phone, because it actually announces who the calling party is, so I can blithely ignore all the "CALL FROM TOLL FREE" calls and make a mad dash when it says "CALL FROM SEETLE WAH" (which is its charmingly accented way of saying Seattle, WA and is always indication for Sarah).
I realized far too late that I didn't need to make 50lbs of stuffing for the three of us, but sadly this was after all the onions and celery and bread had been chopped. I did stop and divide it in half, so now I have a sack of chopped celery and onions and a bag of bread cubes. I think I should turn the bread cubes into bread pudding and eat a lot of tunafish sandwiches next week with lots of onions/celery. And I suppose I could use some of it stir-fried with other veggies. I also have a lot of carrots left over.
Today I need to:
- get through the mountain of laundry that has piled up by the desk so I actually have clothes to wear when I go out later today
- meet Sarah and Em at the U Village to buy material for Christmas cards
- visit the Apple store and buy a car-adapter thingie for my iPod
- go to a store with Timbuk2 bags so I can decide what size, colors I want
Since Jeanne/Judy got me that fantastic GC for my birthday, I have been dying to get a bag and constantly find myself in situations where I think, GodDAMMIT I wish I had a Timbuk2 bag. But I really want to see some variations before deciding.
I should clean my desk, because it is an abomination, but I just really don't want to today. Instead, I'm going to make a plate of leftovers and tuck myself into the couch with the first season of Law & Order that wonderful
dtaylor sent me. Purrrrr.
