Want.
But it's dumb, because I only like seasons 1-3; and selected episodes from 4. So it would make more sense to just buy the first four and not spend $170 on something that I won't watch about half of.
Watching Firefly. It's just so unfathomable (still) that the show isn't going to continue for years to come. Sigh. It's so fucking brilliant.
I really had trouble with the movie, expressly because it was so different from the show. I don't fault them for any of the choices they had to make because of the change in medium, but losing Wash was just not okay. I know I'm being unreasonable, but it felt wrong, dammit (and I don't want to argue about it). Losing Cedric in HP4 hurt, because when good people die, duh, it hurts. But killing Wash, however realistic as the casualty of a battle was just wrong. And I think it felt wrong because the show was carefully structured to unfold stories over time, and not in an explosive rush with something like that happening. I felt jarred.
So. Anyhow. I don't know if they'll make another movie or not. Of course I'll see it if they do. But I'd give anything for them to retcon back from Out In Space and pretend the movie doesn't exist.
And from all I can see, Joss Whedon is working on franchise comic books and Wonder Woman. Some woman stood up at ComicCon and requested that Gina Torres get the title role, which I think would be spectacular, but is too much to hope for. I guess I wish he would work on bringing a new, amazing tv show so we could have something else to fall in love with.

Date: 2005-11-27 06:51 am (UTC)What's really eating at me is that Amazon had a pre-sale with it for $129, but I didn't have the money then! ah, well, my sister informs me that discountdvds.com is carrying it for $139, which isn't quite so bad.
And each season runs about $30, so buying four would be $120 or so anyway. Go for it, I say. One of us has to. :) (Still so tempted!)

Date: 2005-11-27 07:09 am (UTC)yeah, I know how you feel. If I bought one, I'd want them all, just to say I had the full set.
