I keep having these moments where I stop, stare, and think, "Wow. This is mine. All mine. I live here."

Jeff arrived and his wonderful reaction to the living room furniture was, "What on earth are you talking about? This isn't too much furniture!!" Hee. I told him that in my defense, I'd cleared the room of boxes and moved things about a bit. Yay!

Then we walked down to Gorditos for lunch. Despite the light drizzle, it was a nice walk and gave me a chance to get a feel for my neighborhood. Walking gives you that so much better than driving.

We came back and tackled the desk. In an infuriating turn of events, while simply bending over to hold a piece of the desk, I torqued my back. It hurts and I've just spasm'd it, but it's not debilitating, thankfully. I can still move. Slowly and with some wincing, but whatfuckingever. I pounded some Advil and despite Jeff's scolding, continued on my merry way. We got the desk in place, displaying a previously unknown set of OCD tendencies in me pertaining to symmetry. Then we loaded all the boxes into Jeff's truck. It feels so good to have that space. It's funny, because it's not like I'm using it for anything (the dining room). But it feels good.

Jeff left, admonishing me to take it easy. I cheerfully lied and promised to. To which he immediately responded, "LIAR!" Hee. Hobbes did hold me down on the couch for a bit, but I felt better, stretched out a bit, and hauled the bookshelves into the office. I've placed the filing cabinet and re-arranged the club chair. So that room is set. Hallefuckinglujah. I feel like I've been working towards that end for a decade. Now I can unpack my bookses and set up the main pc. Whoop!

My last big goal is to move the old loveseat into the bedroom. The blue color is going to look repulsive against the red wall, but until I buy a cover for it, I'll just have to survive.

I need to go to Fred Meyer to buy this cable piece thingie and a roll of that stuff you can use in lieu of contact paper, it's squishy and non-adhesive so I can unpack the master bath. I also want to re-arrange the furniture in the bedroom and everything's on wheels so that's easy enough.

Despite longer ranging projects, the unpacking home stretch is in sight and on target. I would jump around and dance, but irritated back and all, I should at least abstain from that!

And it has kind of a checkerboard pattern to it, but very small? I love that stuff! Bought a big roll of it at Costco a while back, and used it to line my kitchen untensil drawers. I was going to line more, but ran out of "oomph". Mom spotted it, though, and asked if she could have some. So I took the roll with me when I went up for Turkey Day. She likes it too.

It's a little thick for putting under rugs on hardwood floors (to keep them from moving), but it still works pretty well for that too.

Yup, exactly those! And when I mentioned it to my friends, they all exclaimed, "Go to Costco!!"

And I think they make a rug version, maybe it's thinner? Or may not, but I know they have it in rug-size!
